Staff unwilling to accommodate a one hour late checkout extension and extend courtesy to a family attending a funeral. Disappointed that left a bad taste for the stay and could have been handled very well.

We stayed here for a weekend visit to celebrate our mother's 80th birthday in Victoria. From check-in to check-out, everything was fabulous! The only complaint from any of the 4 of us in our room, was the lighting in the bathroom. Two of the four would/could not even attempt applying makeup prior to dinner, due to the dim bathroom lighting. Having said that, the bathroom 'space' was incredible for 4! Hotel security was fantastic and the valet parking was great. A little more space at the check-in/valet zone would have made things easier but we still managed okay. Quick & friendly check in (including warm cookies), hotel/room cleanliness, walkable location to everything downtown, onsite hotel restaurants (Starbucks) & pub were all top notch! Highly recommend staying here for family's, couples & singles!

The property itself was great , and the staff and valet was appreciated with travelling for three adults and one child and two infants. Always smiles and all the questions. The only down side to the two bedroom suite I have , is the sofa bed. It was the worse thing I have ever slept on , hands down. All springs and no mattress.it’s ridiculous for the price of room that they wouldn’t have a better foam or comfort. I had a cot brought up , took the mattress foam off of it and used that to lay in the bed with. Was 100 percent better. All in all, beautiful place

Great hotel - from the warm cookies at the check in to super friendly staff! We stayed over weekend and it was quiet but right in the center of everything. The suite with two rooms had plenty of room for the family of 4, having fridge and microwave was a bonus. The gentlemen working at the car vallet parking were so helpful with directions and suggestions for parks and beaches. Beacon Hill park is amazing and is just a short walk- went there twice. Will stay again!

Fantastic place for a small family during a trip to Victoria. Great location, just the fair amount of room you need to spend your nights, awesome staff. On the down side its quite expensive and doesn't have an affordable parking or restaurant, neither options for breakfast. Otherwise, I deeply recommend the place for small families.

Double Tree by Hilton in downtown Victoria is perfectly located for anyone wishing to explore the city on foot, bus or bike. Less than a block off Douglas, I would have expected to be disturbed by traffic noise at night, but the soundproofing in our corner unit was excellent. Although there is no pool, sauna or hot-tub, there is apparently a gym, and there is a Starbuck's connected to the lobby, so this might not be number one on your list if you're travelling with your family. I would, however, highly recommend this hotel to couples and business travellers. The staff were particularly polite, helpful and courteous here, and it went a long way in forming my opinion. Be warned, vehicle drivers, this hotel offers valet parking only, and there is an additional charge per night of about $30 for parking. An unfortunate trend that seems to have befallen most of the major hotels in Victoria and Vancouver. Overall, I would recommend this hotel, and I will come back again!

At no point on Expedia or the DoubleTree site (or during a phone call to the property) was it mentioned that the lot next to the hotel was undergoing significant / loud construction, including pile-driving at 7am. This disrupted our vacation and our infant's sleep schedule, effectively making our 'vacation' nothing of the sort. Some more up front information would have been appreciated, especially when I called the hotel to inquire about their infant support and to book a crib. The crib was not put in the room as promised and when one was brought up it seemed like it was purchased from a Soviet-era second hand store, with no sheets provided. No information was provided regarding the hotel amenities. We specifically booked a kitchenette but there was nothing not found in a normal hotel room other than a sink (consisted of a fridge, microwave and coffee maker). There was no cutlery, no towels or anything like what other hotels with kitchenettes have to offer. The downtown location was convenient but I would not stay at this hotel again, especially for that price. Quite dissatisfied with the stay.

If you plan to spend more time outside of the hotel in Victoria I recommend this hotel. This hotel has less amenities like swimming pool, etc. compared to other ones near by but we didn't mind because we wanted to spend more time outside in the city. The room rates were attractive because your family can stay in the bigger room for same or less money compared to others in Downtown. All other essential services are available as you can expect from its brand name "Hilton". Any request I made was provided fast and the manager followed up to ensure everything was taken care for us. Staffs were friendly and professional. During 3 day stay we didn't have to drive but mostly walked because everything was in reach within a 1 km.
