Hampton Inn Charleston-Downtown

We have come to enjoy the Hilton family of hotels and always look for one to stay at. This is the first property that we have been terribly disappointed in. I have never written a bad review before. We had to request a room change from the first room we had been assigned. The room looked like it had not been cleaned and likely not dusted in who knows how many days. The second room was marginally better. A very disappointing stay for our stopover.

There was a girls basketball team on our floor, very noisy for other guests until midnight. Can’t groups of kids stay on the 1st floor?

Very nice stay. Traveled with grandkids 1 and 3 year olds. They loved the indoor pool. Only issue was handle on toilet in our room would have to be jiggled to stop water from flowing, otherwise great stay.

This was the nastiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was barley cleaned, and the carpet on one complete side of the room was soaking wet so my family and I had to wear shoes while walking around the room because I had no clue what it was. I would have expected the room to be in excellent condition after having to wait for our room. Check-in was said to be at 3:00, my family and I arrived at 7:30 and we had to wait. The man working the front desk was also very unwelcoming and seemed like he had no clue what was going on. I would never recommend this hotel and will never stay there again when returning to this area.

The charge was more the night we went through Hotels. Com. The other nights they discounted us because we had family in the hospital. The staff was nice. Breakfast bar was slow on replenishing.

Hampton Inn was a nice hotel. I’d probably stay somewhere else next time only because of the location. The free breakfast had peppers in the eggs one days and onions and peppers the next. It would have been nice to have some plain, especially if my kids were with me. Otherwise, the staff and room were great.

We were in town for family functions and needed a place to spend 1 night. Our usual hotel of choice was unavailable. We booked a room here at the last minute. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were exceptionally clean. I will definitely stay in this hotel again.
