Courtyard by Marriott Charleston Downtown/Civic Center

There were lots of families enjoying the pool, but unfortunately my family stopped because our baby was fussy after a long day's drive and we just needed to stop so we weren't there because we really wanted to be. The staff were helpful. Unfortunately, the first room we got was so dirty we didn't feel comfortable staying there and the suite we ordered didn't have a door (which we needed to put our baby to bed in the bedroom). They were able to move us to a second room but the second room smelled like cat urine and dog. My husband is allergic to cats and I appreciate having to travel with pets but it just smelled really bad.. One of the beds had a dirty coverlet and a carpet was disgusting. I chose not to let my baby crawl around on it even though we had a long day of driving the day before and had another one the day after. For some this hotel might be just fine. But we paid $50 more for a hotel in Charleston a different time and it was 10 times cleaner and nicer. This was rated as a seven on hotels.com but I can't believe it even made past five.

Check in was smooth. Front desk staff member was pleasant and took care of us. She provides insight about local activities and things for families to do. Location is in walking distance to restaurants and city festivities near the waterfront.

This hotel was very clean and in an extremely convenient location. Great for families. We loved the layout of the suite we stayed in for our kids. The front desk staff were also helpful and friendly.

We came to WV to visit family. we had a great time we enjoyed the pool. restaurant was good too.

I chose this hotel for a date night with my wife. One of her requests was that the hotel have a hot tub for us to relax in, without our children. We were informed that this hotel does not have a hot tub; only an indoor pool. Please update your data and listing for this property. Otherwise, a very nice hotel and staff to patronize.
