The Barclay Towers Resort Hotel

It was our first time ever, staying in a hotel. It was pretty good. The room was clean, roomy, and comfy for the five of us (2 Adults, 3 kids). We had a king size bed n a Queen fold out sofa bed for the kids to share, and a very nice view of Virginia Beach from our Balcony.

The place was very nice and convenient to all the shops. Literally footsteps away from the beach. The place wasn’t sparkling clean but it was good enough for me and my family. We would stay there again ☺️

Everything was perfect except there were no pool towels & we were told they were coming. My grandkids shivered all the way back to the room.

Love you and the surrounding areas was the best part. The hotel was dirty including the pull-out couch had a blood stain on it and little dead black bugs and pubic hairs. When we went to the desk to get clean bedding they acted like we were in inconvenience. And then the day that we were checking out there was a brutal fight that my kids had to witness involving the staff. The police were there multiple times. I complained to the staff and they told me that Expedia is the only one that could fix the problem.

So where to begin....looking at the photos online this place looked great hence why I booked in the first place. After visiting this "resort" I would never pay the amount of money I did for such a disappointment. When we first arrive we are given our rooms and the first room I walk into smells of straight weed. Next im checking for beg bugs. Found remnants and went down to switch rooms. One lady rolled her eyes and refused to speak to me while the other got an attitude about me pulling the sheets back and tells me we can't keep switching your rooms. My bad that I don't want weed and beg bugs. Not to mention the bug repellent plug ins located on nightstands of both sides of the bed. Next the rooms were dorty and disgusting. I had to throw away used napkind and medication wrappers along with some type of medicine behind the bed. I swept the floors myself. It was just nasty they need to retrain or get new staff. Hot tub was not a hot tub but a second pool basically. Rooms are old and outdated. Looks grungy and dirty. Had it not been for my kids excitement I would not have stayed and will never be back!!!!

Created by rude staff who appeared to not want to be there. Once up to our room we found baby roaches climbing the walls. The spare bed was stained and had crumbs all over the mattress cover.

We checked in extremely late due to holiday travel asked to extend reservation but was denied. Front desk knocked on the door at 4am saying that we weee being loud and was only sitting in the living room talking. Walls paper thin it was a hole in the wall near the ceiling. The room next door has small children that were knocked on doors and ran the hallway extremely early in the morning. Called front desk they did nothing about it but came to my room at 4am which I found weird. There was stains on the pull out couch and bedding. Wouldn’t stay again.

We held my granddaughters 10th birthday party. We had a suite. Very clean, everything was included to cook and clean. Eater pressure was everything. The veiw was perfect. The kids really enjoyed the indoor pool. Wish it could have stayed opened longer. Overall i will be coming back again. Thank you Taylor ( night staff) she was amazing!!!!

Hotel/“Resort” what a joke- is absolutely outdated and dirty. Common areas were dated, damaged, and obviously hadn’t been cleaned in quite a while. Room was even worse- hair in Mimi fridge, mold in shower, black ring around tub and shower surround to name just a few. My kids were afraid to sleep in the sheets. All this nastiness and then to be charged a $12.90 “resort fee” when you check in that is t posted anywhere when you make the reservation! And if you don’t pay it….. kiss your non-refundable reservation goodbye. Don’t waste your money, time, or health staying at the Barclays Towers. Heck I don’t think even the homeless people would want a free night stay here!
