Very friendly staff. Located downtown, the hotel rooms are expensive, $200+ and does not have a "free" parking option. The room we had was nice, but it did not justify the price we paid. Valet parking was a whopping $37/day. Without it you are stuck with public parking garages or street parking that costs during the day. The valet staff was pleasant, but on a few occasions during our visit, they were overworked and took longer than expected to bring up your car. You are in an area where homeless /beggar individuals are unavoidable if you do any walking. No free breakfast here. Bar food was good and pricey but service, though friendly, was typically slow. First floor men's public bathroom had no paper towels my entire visit and no hand air dryer. Close to the VCU campus. We stayed here to be with family, who were also staying here for a national soccer tournament. This hotel was one of the options the venue had the teams/parents required to stay in. Finally, piped-in "elevator" music was annoying throughout the entire lobby area. Would not stay here again for cost alone. Needed to check out a day early. Since we used Hotels.com to make reservations, although the Hotel would have not charged for the extra night, we were stuck with that unnecessary expense too. This is one Hotels.com policy that could be revisited. It is nearly impossible to find a way to contact anyone directly and we will need be more mindful in the future on number of nights for something this pricey.

i ordered a kind suite, it it told out so they gave me a family room with bunk beds. it was just my husband and i so we had no need for bunk beds so it was really a waste of upgrading to a suite. When i asked if i could downgrade to a regular king room, i was told no. I will not be returning

My family and I stayed for 4 nights. It is a beautiful hotel with a great location. My primary gripe is that they only cleaned our room once. They never refreshed our towels. Every morning I had to go downstairs and ask for more coffee packets and such. I asked them to clean my room and they never did.

Doesn't seem well kept. The pool on Memorial Day weekend was green? not sure what was up, but the sides were dirty in it. It should have been cleaned before the holiday weekend, start of summer? No pool towels, just a pile of dirty towels in the pool hallway. No one to open up the pool bathroom either. Coffee person in the morning was only 1 person working, we felt sorry for him, it was chaos, took 30 minutes to get a coffee, huge crowd. Restaurant wasn't operating that night or the next morning (Monday Memorial Day). So they did let people bring in their own food, which was great but also kind gross b/c there were lots of pizza boxes and empty food containers all over the restaurant/game area. Video arcade games were running really slowly, my kids didn't enjoy them. All the snack machines / ice machines were removed from the floors. Only floor 14 had ice, no snacks. Downstairs had snacks but no one there to sells snack to us. The shampoo dispenser in our shower was broken, light in the ceiling of the bathroom flickered constantly. the kids bunk beds weren't made up, just top sheets and blankets left folded on the beds. Limited TV channels, no kid channels (nick, Disney, etc. said "no signal", only basic channels, but did have food network, HGTV and ESPN, so not sure why the kid channels weren't running).

We enjoyed our stay and the vibe at the hotel is very cool. The bathroom was a little worn and we were disappointed that the bunkbeds weren’t made up with sheets (even though our kids were on the reservation), but all in all, it was a good stay.

We stayed here for a race weekend. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We got a family room and it was wonderful with 3 adults and 2 kids. Great decor and vibe. We would stay here again.

The place and room was nice and clean. Nice hotel! Food - breakfast and dinner unfortunately we're a bit bland, its also all ala carte. The bar inside was good, but came across a couple of guys who had too many who were saying (jokingly) obscene things to each other while kids were around in the area. Also, dogs are allowed, unfortunately 2 dogs briefly got into it while checking out (I can see this being a accident waiting to happen eventually).

In the heart of downtown Richmond you’ll find The Graduate Hotel. My family stayed here prior to a tour of VCU. To our surprise students were living off campus. You couldn’t really tell until one student welcomed us. The hotel itself was fairly clean. The lobby was nice and staff were pleasant overall. The room we had was spacious. It could sleep six with enough waking room. The niche elements were great (keycards, decor, etc.). Overall, I would book here again if in Richmond.
