Holiday Inn Express & Suites McKinney - Frisco East, an IHG Hotel

Room very clean, staff friendly, will recommend to family and friends.

After a long day of travel, I arrived at the H Inn 9:40 pm. The clerk at the desk was busy , standing at the desk typing. I stood ready to give my information , and my reservation #. He continued to type at length. Finally he said, without looking up, do you have a reservation? I replied " yes sir I do " . He said something else that i could not understand because his head was down. So i waited, then he said something i was unable to decipher and I said " I have a reservation, i have the reference number ". He finally looked up. And I said, "Oh, how nice of you to finally look up to speak to me. I am ready to give you my reservation #. This produced a glare like some middle school child. Had i not spent the day traveling and a long day traveling the next day i would have written down his name I had reservations Friday Aug 5 and arrived at 9:30 pm If this had been my first stay with HI Express i would never book there again. The employees the next morning were all delightful.

When I arrived at 5 pm the front desk told me our room wasn’t available yet. Ok that’s fine, go find something to eat for the kids. We booked this room specifically for the pool. When I returned I was informed the pool would be ready at 7. They had did a treatment and it was for safety reasons why we couldn’t go in till 7. 7 came and forgot to take a picture of the green water. What treatment? Ok what a waste of my time. Then I called down to get an extra set of sheets and pillows. She told me there were no pillow. There was left over food in the fridge. They had no breakfast available the next morning either. Overall I was just disappointed because nothing was great.

Our overall stay and the hotel was great but we had some hiccups during check-in. We when arrived they didn't have any rooms available for the type booked (2 queen beds) via hotels.com. They scrambled to find an available king studio that would accommodate our family of 3. The staff was more than helpful but created a long check-in process. She suggested always calling the hotel to confirm the reservation and room type even though it was confirmed by hotels.com

Very clean, very quiet. Breakfast is just continental so not impressive if that’s a big deal for you or you have kids.

The staff was so sweet. My family was there for a funeral and once I asked about check out time and explained the situation they were unbelievably kind. I didn't even have to tell them our room numbers they remembered. Awesome personable staff and great location!!
