Comfort Suites At WestGate Mall

I had booked a suite as I had six family members with us. She gave us the room key and we went to the room, walked in and realized it wasn’t a suite, went right back down and told I was suppose to have a suite as I had six in my family. She had to look around to see if she could switch us? Which she did. She ask if the room she originally gave us was rentable? I told her Yes we saw it was t the right kind of room, so their waiting in the hall. We went into the suite and as we were unpacking found food still in the microwave and the blankets for the pull out couch had been used. We just put them aside and my girls got their blankets out of the car. Room was dated and not very clean.

They were understaffed for the amount of check ins on the weekend we came It took us 45 minutes to check in, crazy!. We had 5 rooms for 4 nights. A lot of money was spent. Because of the amount of children in the hotel, management must have decided that the pool and weight room be closed. The reason for the heavy volume of children, mostly boys, was because of the Southern Nationals AAU youth football tournament being held in town. Closing the facilities of the hotel was a very poor decision. Clearly this is a reason why some people booked the hotel. The staff said it was due to maintenance issues. However, you could clearly see the pumps working, etc. Not to mention the staff area behind the check in desk does not have doors, and the day shift ladies talk pretty loudly...It was made clear why both the pool and weight room were closed. Comfort Suites lost one customer at least.

Rooms were nice. Property was in good condition. 9 families were waiting to check in with about a 40-minute wait. Kids were running about and were noisy till about 10pm at the pool.

I’ve always loved staying at this hotel. If I forget anything while packing for my trip it’s located across from the mall and there are more places for gas and shopping in the area close to the hotel. I will always choose Comfort Suites for my family while in town visiting.

The first night we checked in, we noticed about 10 baby roaches in our bathroom. I went to the front desk to let them know & I was told that if I don’t see a bug within an hour, we can’t change rooms. I put in a maintenance request to have the toilet caulked the next day & the maintenance guy only sprayed bug spray. That night we saw an adult roach. When I went downstairs to notify them again, I was dismissed & told “we don’t have roaches”. So I submitted another maintenance request for the caulking of the toilet (because the toilet & shower parts were not caulked to the floor/walls). This time maintenance did not show up. After seeing yet another extremely large cockroach in the living area, I went downstairs to talk with the gentleman working the front desk, Paul I think. He told me that I’m seeing water bugs (aka Palmetto bugs) & NOT roaches. I corrected him because palmetto bugs ARE roaches & even seeing one is a sign of an infestation. There were multiple times he would just walk off & start talking on his phone w/o a word to me. He then went up & checked our room. Because he didn’t see a bug with his own eyes, i was dismissed yet again, despite showing him literal proof on my phone of the pictures I took each time. After back & forth with him for awhile, I told him I just wanted to leave & get another hotel because I am pregnant and have 3 small children & roaches carry diseases. We left & had to pay for another nights stay because it was past checkout time.

I will never step foot in this hotel again we stayed a total of four nights with two kids we checked in and got to the room to put our things down headed out to visit family upon returning which was around 11 pm and getting settled my fiancé and I laid In bed it felt like my back was planted on the springs of the bed and the bed was squeaky with every move you made . I went the following morning to try and switch rooms because I woke up with a sore back and was told once you’re in a room you can’t be switched to another one . That’s bs if you ask me . To top it off the last couple nights bugs kept appearing looked like a roach or maybe a cricket either way gross . Location was quiet pool is right in front of houses with little privacy the people who live in back of the hotel could easily jump over the brick wall to get in . Breakfast was not good but never expect it to be .

My room had blood all through it, the police were there two days in a row, access doors didn’t lock, management had attitudes with my whole family.

This was just a one night stay for us on the way to our final destination. We got to the room and turned the sheets down and the bed had body hair and dirt still in it. We had to go to the lobby twice and ask for the sheets on the bed to be changed and the man was rude to us. The carpet looked like the occupants before us had an animal that used the bathroom on the floor and they didn’t clean the carpet before turning the room over. The breakfast was good no complaints there. The kids enjoyed the pool.

Clean, beautiful. Night desk person very nice but overwhelmed. You need two hosts in evenings for so many check ins. Hotel was full. Early morning ladies not so nice. Breakfast lady was wonderful but also overwhelmed. Could not keep food full due to so many guests. NEEDED a 2nd helper. Maybe obe of the not so busy ladies at front desk could have helped with the food? Pool ooen hours were bad. (10 am) We chose this hotel due yo pool for kids-- wanted to let them swim before checkout. We undwerstand help is hard to find..you just need a couple more people to make this hotel a pleasant experience for guests. Thanks for listening...

I was given a room and when I entered for the first time…there was people in it. I didn’t get much of an apology by the staff and got stuck in a room with one king bed with my family of 5.
