Tru by Hilton Harbison Columbia

This is not the Tru that we have stayed at previously. We checked in on Friday night. There was no issue with check in however the room was not clean. There were things in the room from the previous guest that lets you know it was jot cleaned like hair clips and hair on the floor. The next morning my wife grabbed a washcloth and started to wash her face she noticed a red stain on the wash cloth and thought her nose was bleeding or something but it was just the washcloth. When I made the reservation I put that there were two adults and two children in a double room however there were two washcloths and towels and while this is a simple fix its just that when you come in off the road you don’t want the extra requirement of going to get additional linen. Finally we spoke to the front desk associate who was nice and let her know that we wanted the room cleaned while we were out (on the weekend service is by request). She got the information we left the property at 7:30am and returned at 6 pm to the same unclean room we left. I would consider staying at a different Tru based in previous experiences but definitely not this one. Overall a gracious 2 stars.

I booked & paid for a king size they made me take a queen room that was dirty very loud from the room next door that had 4children & 1 adult but gave us something we never requested. Room door was jammed we were unable to get the first 3tries the front drank staff had to come up after we went down 3time. I swear by Tru but this was the worst experience ever especially being a Hilton honors member. Very disappointed

Horrible stay no hot water Friday Saturday or Sunday dogs barking none stop kids running up n down the halls Housekeeping picks n chooses rooms they clean worst stay ever

Upon checking out I metioned to the front desk lady about the kids playing soccer in the parking lot around mine and other guests vehicles and the difficulty just entering and exiting the hotel. (2) responses I received along with a deep sigh "COME ON A WEEKDAY THEN" & "WE A'INT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OUTSIDE, JUST INSIDE" So yes we know parking is not valet and its not a 24/7 security but I mean I think you can control what is going on in the entrance of the hotel?

For maybe a one night stay , good..Staff was very pleasant, rooms were clean..Bed and pillows definitely need a upgrade .Rooms are small no drawers or closet, tiny refrigerator and no microwave.Only ice machine is in the 1 st floor..No pool..it said there was a pool .Cozy lounge and great for family kids with lots of games..No snack machine and $$$ at the desk.. Breakfast very Bland..Carts were terrible..Nice bathroom/shower.. Close to tons of stores and restaurants.. Beautiful lake where you can walk behind the hotel..

We really liked the young woman who was on staff at the desk in the evening. I think her name was Katie. Very professional yet friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was that there were other guests near our room who allowed their older kids to run down the hallway and scream in their room (playing) that started about 10:30 and went to around midnight. We were in 319 for 3 nights. The event happened on Saturday night.

Good area, close to a lot of great food and activities, felt safe, good breakfast. But although there were signs about quiet times, several rooms had incredibly loud music playing by 7am and loud kids past midnight. Signs in room say you can ask for room service for new towels, trash emptying, and bed service, but when we asked, they told us "maybe, but probably not" and then definitely did none of it. Trash cans in front of hotel door were never emptied while we were there and spilling over. Cute white board sign telling of local places, but the majority were badly misspelled.

Hotel Staff was courteous, friendly, and responsive to our needs. The Grandkids were happy with the breakfast served - My only concern was that there was only one microwave available for use by guests in the Main Lobby, and none in the Guest Rooms.

The building is nice, the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, the breakfast was good. However, I’ve stayed in cheap motels that had quieter rooms. I could hear the neighbors TV perfectly until they turned it off at 12:30am. I could tell they didn’t have the volume that high because we could also just hear them talking. There was just no soundproofing. We had our kids in the room too and to my horror, the neighbors woke us up having sex at 2 and 3am. A hotel can have every accommodation, but if there is no privacy or quiet, then it’s a terrible experience. This is my first stay at a Tru and if they are all built like this, it will be my last. I expected more from a Hilton hotel.

We normally stop in Columbia to visit family. We have stayed several places and Tru by Hilton is the best for the price. I recommend Tru by Hilton if you have pets and its clean. Breakfast is available which we like.
