Holiday Inn Express & Suites Columbia-I-26 @ Harbison Blvd, an IHG Hotel

First room I was placed in had a significant crack in the window. It was a room on the 4th floor - unsafe. I was told hotel was booked to capacity. I booked 2 queen beds and the room was a king. I was traveling with children. After complaining, a room with 2 queens mysteriously became available. I moved rooms again. Unfortunately, I found a love baby roach on the bathroom. Thankful it’s only overnight. Never again.

No one was at the front desk and three little kids were running around. We had to keep calling out, then proceeded to walk thru back and saw a woman in an office. She said someone should be at reception desk. She came out took care of us. New crew next morning seemed nice and friendly.

Smooth check in for both of my rooms. They were able to put both rooms on the same floor for my family. One of the door had a problem with the hinge so the door slammed hard and was loud down the hall. There was a posting in the elevator about breakfast times and when was busiest which was great. Problem was that the layout of the breakfast made it hard to get plates while people were making pancakes and the corner was congested and it was impossible to get to the cinnamon rolls because of the traffic waiting at pancake maker.

Was a very good selection, for spending time with the grandchildren.........

My stay was just an overnight stay due to a night out with friends and family. Check in was quick. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Unfortunately I had to have the tv turned up loud all night due to the thin walls and the neighboring room having sex all night and early morning. I wasn’t able to switch rooms since there were no more vacancies, so my adult kids and I had to wait it out. Also, breakfast was sparse. You got the main breakfast eggs, a side of meat, and biscuit with gravy. They were out of cereal, fruit, and pancake mix. So if you want a good breakfast you will be better off waiting until a restaurant in the area opens up. Other than that the stay was nice. It was located in a great area in the center of all the shopping, entertainment, and restaurant destinations. Would stay there again. Staff was friendly and courteous.

Checking in was wonderful. My family and I love staying at holiday Inn’s. My only issue I had was feeling uncomfortable because we are a family of 4 and I made several trips with getting breakfast. It seemed like it was a lot and I’m very considerate of others. I noticed the manager seemed a little annoyed and I asked her what was wrong and she stated other people have to eat. I’m not being rude with saying this however, we didn’t stay at the hotel for free.
