Kiki at the front desk was friendly, accommodating and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The bar tender had friends visiting and talked loudly with them at the bar while finishing up her shift. The room was ok overall, but the hallway directly outside the room and the room itself smelled like smoke and my kid’s allergies were irritated by it. Air conditioning was ice cold (a good thing) and the pool was beautiful.

I was very unhappy. The air condition did not write work in the room. It would not come on. We were sweating and hot. We called the front desk and spoke to Billy. He told me that he would make a report, but he had no maintenance people available to get the air condition working. He offered to change the room however, it was 1 o’clock in the morning and my child was sleeping. So I did not want to be disturbed so I just laid there awake sweating all night. When Expedia tried to call to resolve the issue for me, there was no report of it and Billy wasn’t there so they wouldn’t help me very upsetting. He should’ve done a report like he told me he would.

The elevators had a terrible smell- chemical like smell that was throughout our 3 night stay. Room ac/heat worked but if you turned unit off, stale air continued to blow- unit never shut off- our eyes got so dried out and my daughter woke up on last day with cough and congestion and just felt terrible. I received a text from “Cam” at Cambria after check in asking if we needed anything- I texted back with above complaints- no response- just received another text the following days with “Hope you are enjoying your stay- let us know if you need anything “. Also, part of reason we chose this hotel was that it offered a shuttle service. We checked in on Thanksgiving and there was a sign that said due to holiday, shuttle was not offered but would be in service on Friday. I totally understood and agreed with that. However, there was no shuttle on Friday or Saturday. Front staff said “family emergency” on Friday but driver would be in Saturday. Saturday came, and we went down in afternoon to “shuttle” to dinner- was told shuttle driver didn’t come in- no other driver and no apology or anything. Also, staff very unprofessional. I am a nurse and wear a uniform and take care of people for a living. Staff was in hoodies and on their phones all the time. When we checked out, there was no comment such as “thanks for staying” or “hope you enjoyed your visit”-I was asked - “are you ready to check out” and “do you want a receipt. Will not recommend The Cambria and will not stay here again -

The hotel itself is nice. The room walls are very thin, you can hear conversations thru the wall and little kids running on the ceiling, and the was a hump in out floor with a major downgrade. The sliding door for the bathroom is cool but lacks privacy. We also found a sulverfish insect crawling in the shower.

I hate to give such a good review - I want this place to stay a secret. The rooms were beautiful, the common areas were stylish and comfortable. The exercise facility was one of the nicest I’ve been in for a non-resort/highrise hotel, and the free washer and dryer on the 4th floor was worth the price of the room. We will definitely stay again. I didn’t try the on-site restaurant, but everything else was top notch. It was easy to get to historic downtown Charleston - about a 5 min drive. We usually stay downtown but this was better for our family.

We booked a suite over the weekend for family vacation in Charleston. The receptionist was nice and over cleanness of the lobby was fine. We went entered our room to what appeared to be a nice room but shortly found out there was issues beyond issues. The heater didn’t work, there was good still behind the chairs, the smell of smoke coming from the bathroom and the tv was bungee corded to the wall. Our pull out couch had no sheets and when I sat on it felt like they bought the cheapest mattress possible for it. I called guest services for sheets and 30 minutes later no sheets still. I had to go to the lobby and they stated oh were sorry I forgot. Which I get sometimes these things happen. But overall not happy with the stay.

The hotel was convenient located to the family we were visiting. The staff were very friendly. The parking was easy. The room was nice and comfortable. The only downside was the sound was noticeable coming from adjacent rooms so not much privacy or noise-free for the room at night.

Zero housekeeping left me with a pile of wet dirty towels, dirty baby diapers, old food, and uncleaned room for three days. Comforters seemed damn and clammy from washing and very uncomfortable to sleep on. Me and Infant coughed the entire time in room because the mold and/or allergens were that bad. You can see paint marks on the ceiling so I’m assuming there was a leak that was patched but the carpets not replaced? Oh, and when I asked about the housekeeping, towels, smell and trash? I was given two trash bags, and a bottle of industrial cleaner to take back to my room and clean it myself - I have photos. This was beyond disappointing. I never complain about hotels, but this was a nightmare. Felt like a truck stop motel at best. Steer clear!

Room fixtures were broken, sink didn't drain, room was dirty, mobile reception was terrible, elevator smelled like diesel fuel, extra laundry items were never available, no utensils available for breakfast, and staff was largely unattentive. Would never stay again or recommend the Cambria to friends/family.
