This was our first visit to Charleston and I was on business. The family explored the historic downtown and we found some great restaurants. We thought that the location was great, the breakfast was nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and a comfortable bed. The only issue was that the air conditioner would not de-humidify. Everything in the room was damp and climbing into bed it felt all cool and clammy and we didn't sleep well at all because of that. Not good! It did cool the room but it smelled musty and even the tissues were damp. I let the front desk staff know and they said that they get lots of complaints about the dampness and mustiness. We will not return to this location if this is not fixed. They didn't seem concerned about it. Our bags and clothes now all smell musty and we had to air everything out.

5 out of 5 stars

The property is a little bit up from the historic district, but there is a free shuttle Charleston provides that is great and easy to use. It is far enough from the historic district to relax and be out of the tourist traffic. Easy to drive to. There is a great restaurant named Coastal that is in the business alley right next door. Perfect hotel for those with small children and a great breakfast area. Free coffee all day and they even include multiple flavors and decafe. Highly recommend. Friendly staff. On site parking is easy to use.

I've stayed at this hotel 3 times now and every time it has been great. The staff is friendly, the hotel is clean and the breakfast options are plenty. It is my go to place when I am visiting my family.

4 out of 5 stars

This property was across the street from the free shuttles at the visitor center that go over Charleston. This was convenient. It is also easy to walk to restaurants. The room smelled musty and the AC fan ran constantly. Breakfast was great with many options. Most people who stay here are quite old--not really families. There were no towels at the pool for use. The staff never answered the phone when calling front desk for questions.
