Holiday Inn Charleston Historic Downtown, an IHG Hotel

From the time we arrived there it was awesome, Miss K and her staff made us feel like family. They took extra time to get us into our room early so we could see the Kenny Chesney concert. We will definitely be back

We were somewhat disappointed with our current stay. Upon arrival, we were told that we could not check in half an hour early even though we called earlier and were told that we would be allowed to check in an hour earlier than the check-in time. However, the limited did hold our luggage while we ventured out. Once we did finally check-in, our room was HOT!!!! The maintenance personnel did come by to look at our thermostat. We were given a roundabout answer as to why the room temperature was not coming down. We were talked to like children and their explanation never proved why we could not lower the thermostat. We ended up requesting 2 fans during our stay and were not given the opportunity to swap rooms. During our breakfast, the staff played personal music in the kitchen and was heard cutting up and acting very unprofessional in their discussions. Just a few positives to note - The staff was overall friendly but not helpful and the hotel appeared well-kept.
