The room was large and comfortable. Perfectly outfitted kitchen if you choose to eat in. Great for a family who wants to save money by not eating every meal out. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

We were not impressed with this hotel. Our room was spacious, but it was lacking a lot. We had to ask for toilet paper, hand soap, and sheets for the pull out bed. We never had dish soap for the dishes we used. Our bathroom door was broken. They had to come fix it twice, and it still wouldn’t close all the way. It wasn’t a big deal because we were with family, but it is still nice to have a bathroom door that closes. They were VERY fast to bring us things we were missing, but I felt like I was constantly at the desk asking for things. The staff was very friendly, but they weren’t knowledgeable about public transportation. Every time we asked how to get somewhere, they told us to take an Uber or Lyft. As far as cleanliness, it was sub-par. The floor was sticky when we walked in. Our kids thought it was funny to make sticking floor sounds. The couch was very dingy. When I pulled it out, there was a small amount of mouse feces. I later saw our furry friend scooting by us and under the refrigerator. The one blanket and pillow set they left for the pull out couch (before I asked for more) was in terrible condition and looked dirty. It wasn’t a terrible place to stay. We felt safe and the staff was friendly/ responsive, it just wasn’t great. We had just come from a fantastic hotel the night before in Virginia, so it was a bit of a let down. We did absolutely love the location.

Great location across from the Reading Market. Very few homeless but we only stayed 1 night as it was a pit stop to OC MD. If you stay, take a trip down Kensington Ave to give your kids some life lessons. Just go during the day. My kids got some videos of zombies and people passed out (or maybe dead) on the sidewalk. I’m in LE so I wasn’t afraid. Don’t be soft. Take the ride. Back to the hotel….very quiet at nighttime and beds comfy. Staff was super friendly. It’d be a super sweet place if the handful of homeless would avoid it but what can you do?

This is a $50 room in a good location. The staff is top-notch and made the stay bearable, but it was clear that they were under-staffed and under-supported. There was no reason to be running out of things like paper plates and plastic cutlery, nor coffee, during breakfast. The space was furnished with the cheapest materials possible. The sheets were too small, and resulted in an uncomfortable sleeping experience. The towels were small and worn thin. The lobby space was designed to about half the number of hotel guests, so breakfasts usually involved long lines, scrambling to find a place to sit, and begging to various basic items to be restocked. The keycard technology, which was being used to lock the elevators and all sorts of general hotel spaces (in addition to individual rooms) was so shoddy that it routinely took 3+ tries to work on any door, which was very frustrating - especially when carrying lots of items and trying to herd small kids. The staff overall worked exceptionally hard, and were the bright point of the stay. In particular, Vanessa at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure the kids felt welcome and appreciated.

The staff members at the hotel were warm, friendly, helpful, and competent. They, and the location, were the best things about the hotel. But it was obvious that no effort was being made to upgrade or maintain the rooms. Everything seemed a bit shabby and outdated. We also found the large portion of the room devoted to a kitchen rather strange. A small fridge and a small microwave would have been fine. Even big families staying in this hotel aren't likely to do much cooking because it's right across the street from the Reading Terminal Market. We did appreciate the large space in the lobby where families can bring food from the Market. We also appreciated the security measures that made us feel safe in the hotel at all times. But the physical state of the hotel is not great. Also, our room was really too small for two queen beds and a pull-out sofa (when we were using the latter) and several times one of us banged our foot or leg on the metal stacking hooks on the underside of the bedframe. It would be easy enough to put some sort of covering on the hooks so that no one injures themselves. One more thing: ending breakfast at 9am is a little harsh. People on vacation may want to sleep a little later, so 9:30 seems a more appropriate time.

Very clean room. Ample space for my 3 adult children and myself. Very convenient to have the full size fridge. Great location across from Reading Terminal Market. The lobby was nice and cool on an incredibly hot weekend. The staff were very attentive and polite. I highly recommend it if you are traveling with your family to Philadelphia

Bathroom was dirty, pee on toilet seat when arrived at room. Other peoples hair found in bed sheets. Pool was out of order when kids were ready to use it. Homeless people and yelling people all around the outside area.

Took the family to Philly for some sight seeing and a sixers game. The staff was so friendly, every time I asked them a question they were eager to help and give advice. Also the breakfast was very good and the staff stayed on top of it making sure things were topped off and fresh. My kids said next time we come to Philly we have to stay here. Thank you to all the staff for a great trip.
