I booked this for an overnight on our way home from vacation. I booked a double queen they gave us one full bed and a rollaway. I complained and was given a king room with a sleeper. Literature showed dates times and phone # for room service. The info was incorrect. Upon registering we were told that Carmen's restaurant opened at five. We went to enjoy dinner only to be told that because of a festival in town the restaurant was not open. the toilet was a slow flusher and had to be refilled and flushed twice with each use.It was a very cool building but I was severely disappointed as I picked it for the multiple dining options. I would have been better off going with a more affordable hotel with a pool. There was a wedding there and a baby crying kept us from going to bed early or sleeping late while the festivities kept us up until 2 am.

We loved the historic history of the hotel and how it was preserved. The homage to Scranton's history with the train industry was magnificent. The hotel was very adult friendly, great restaurants and very nice breakfast nook. While I'm sure a hotel like this does not attract families with children (young, teens or young adults), some less formal options for adults may be more appealing (for example: an indoor pool, an in hotel convenience store with snacks and ice cream, etc). The area around the hotel isn't always safe at night, so going out for these items is not an option.

My husband and I had a great time at this hotel. It was our 25th anniversary. Very relaxing. We ordered room service and each time the breakfast was great. I would definitely come bck with my kids. The hotel was beautiful. I loved the decor.

Gorgeous historic hotel. Rooms were clean. Second night of two night stay, a group of young adults were in the room next to one of our two rooms and kept my kids awake until after midnight. The hotel was not full so we would have hoped the staff had placed the party away from guests with kids. Bar restaurant food was delicious and generous portions. Service was slow but expected since due to holiday and general staffing shortages in the area. Breakfast at Carmines was fantastic!

I love this hotel for its historical atmosphere. It’s becoming a Christmas tradition for my family to stay here. The main floor is gorgeous and the rooms are clean and spacious. Love the jacuzzi tub!

This is a simply beautiful hotel. The lobby and restaurants are spectacular and chock full of history. It is also in a great location with parking on site. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. From the front desk to the waiters and waitresses to the housekeepers - each and everyone went out of his/her way to assure we were taken care of in fine fashion. I would encourage all who want to experience the gorgeous Pocono Mountain Region to stay at this exceptional hotel. We plan to bring our whole family the next time!!!
