Tru by Hilton Grantville, PA

Check in was easy. The room was clean. Everything was great. We stayed just overnight, but we enjoyed it all. Breakfast was good. The whole family liked it.

My family doesn't travel or stay at hotels very frequently, and my kids were extremely happy with our stay at this hotel - they said they had never felt so fancy! :-) We utilized the indoor pool, the gym, and the complimentary breakfast. Can't recall the last time that we had a complimentary breakfast where we actually were happy to fill up on what was provided! Staff was so kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend to others, and would gladly return here for future trips. The area around the hotel doesn't have a lot of close amenities, but a 15-20 minute drive to a big grocery/pharmacy did the trick when we needed to pick up something that we had forgotten, and grab some quick dinner at the same time.

Pool is closed for maintenance which was not posted on website and shows pool hours that are handwritten on a board by the pool. We stayed further away from the attraction because of the pool and now my kids can’t go in a pool. I will be reaching out to corporate for not disclosing pool issue.

Let's start off with the Good: - Easy Check-In: The staff was welcoming and always available. Someone was always at the counter ready to answer any inquiries. - Property is Very Clean and New: The place is a newer hotel in the area so expect clean hallways and rooms. - Close to Hershey, close to dining options, and close to a 24-hour gas station nearby. Now the Bad: - POOL not available during stay. Called multiple times to confirm there was a pool and that it would be available sometime during our stay. IT WAS NOT! I even called the night before check-in and was told that someone was coming in the morning to get it open. Not the case. Very upsetting since we traveled with children that ONLY cared about the indoor pool. Should have booked the Mainstay down the road or the Hampton Inn across the street for less. - Breakfast: If you can even call it that. For the $$$ we booked it for, there should have at least provided more food options. The selections offered were bland, to say the least. Please don't book expecting a full "Continental" breakfast. If you eat light or don't care what they serve, you won't be disappointed. - Key Cards: Physical key cards and virtual key card on the app stopped working during our stay. No explanation why. Received new key cards for them only to stop working after 1 hour! Will not try again. With so many options available in the immediate and surrounding areas, this hotel did not live up to the high reviews and price point.
