Hotel Anthracite

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The parking was behind the hotel in a covered garage, which was nice. The room was very clean and comfortable. I had a queen suite which would be great for a family. The breakfast was okay your normal hotel continental breakfast. The restaurant food was good and the waitress was wonderful.

We love this hotel. Close to our children & very comfortable and charming. We will always stay here when visiting the area. Looking forward to having a family dinner at the Steakhouse next time, too!

The Hotel Anthracite is a great place. My kids and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are very nice, the hotel's location is excellent as there's local restaurants a few paces to a few blocks, an easy walk. Carbondale has come a long way since I was a kid, and it's definitely on the up with a trendy feel; make sure you visit The Burning Bush for great coffee, donuts and sandwiches. You're in the heart of pizza country so there's plenty of places (Andy's in Peckville is my favorite) to choose from, and Scranton is mere 20 minute drive for finer dining. All in all an excellent experience. The only improvement is that the electrical outlets don't have USB charging ports so mack sure you bring a long a plug-in charger.
