Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus Polaris

We love staying at this hotel every time we visit Ohio. The location is great with a lot to do nearby. The complimentary breakfast is amazing with a lot of different choices and my kids loved the hot cocoa bar every afternoon while I enjoyed the coffee and infused water. Staff is super friendly and always accommodating with smiles and friendly hellos.

The hotel overall was fine. We chose to stay primarily because of the indoor pool and hot tub. However, there were multiple rowdy, unsupervised children in the pool area that were so loud and disruptive we had to leave. The pool deck was soaking wet, which created a hazardous condition - I was vey worried about slipping and falling.

How is this place a 2.5 star ? Seriously ? It’s fantastic from cleanliness to location.Our family was impressed with the size of our suite.The beds were comfortable and the linen was above average.Let’s not forget the price point is below local averages.

The pool and hot tub were amazing!! The rooms were clean the bathroom was clean. The breakfast area and food was out of this world. Things that could improve on we’re actually pretty serious things. 1. Parking was completely around the building and that’s typical in large cities. However the key entry into the hotel was only near the front. So in the rain my family and I had to park behind the pool area, and then walk around the hotel to the front entry door where the key fob was located. 2. The light switches in our room were broken in half therefore we weren’t able to turn light on at all. 3. Elevator looked old. 4. This was actually the scariest problem of all. The bedside lamp in our room was broke loose where the lightbulb screws into the lamp. You could actually see the wires in it. So I did it even let my family turn it on in fear of a fire! That was so severe that I’ll let the girls at the desk no about that as we were leaving. The lady that I told said , oh yeah they swing like that. I said no the lamps aren’t supposed to show wires like that. That’s a fire hazard. She said oh I know they’re not supposed to but most of them in the hotel do. Listen, I have been to hotels were things like this occur, but it is definitely not the quality that you expect at a Hilton brand hotel especially a Hampton. Certain hotels or hotels that you stay at because you expect the quality, That comes with a name. We pay extra to get that quality, not hazardous conditions.

Room was clean and spacious (double Queen beds with extra pull out couch). It was very convenient to have a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Breakfast was great in the morning. Check in and check out were quick and easy and staff was nice. Our kids loved the pool and hot tub! Pool area was very clean--(but very heavily chlorinated!!). Towels are provided! Hotel was quiet and we enjoyed our stay.
