Let me start by saying i love this hotel - i stay here often - but... the lady who refused to check me in 20 minutes early without charging me an extra was rude and itr wasn'st busy AT ALL! She turned away me and my two children seemingly because she was in a bad mood. She said that it was almost "changing of the guards" and she was leaving. WOW!!!

Tub was dirty with a ring around it and stained brown on the floor. We also found a small baby roach on the sink. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful but the hotel management & ownership needs to do better with updating the rooms & pest control.

If “you’re not welcome here” was a person, Chris, the representative at the desk last night, fully embodied hostility. He was rude, he made up rules and extra fees that were not on Hotels.com or the email sent by the hotel after paying for the reservation. It was late or my family and I would’ve found another hotel. Chris was so rude and dismissive, that my child asked why he didn’t like us. He even yelled at us and demanded that we return the luggage cart, (which we intended to do once we finished taking our luggage upstairs.) The room reeked of smoke, the smoke detector was covered with a plastic bag. There were several stains on the furniture, and a broken cabinet. Everything just seem inhospitable. The front desk experience just amplified our displeasure with everything.

We arrived about 90 min before our check in time and they charge you $15 even though they have a room ready to check in to The hotel is advertised as having breakfast but they did not. They said a couple pieces of kitchen equipment were broken but they had things you could buy. No breakfast comp or anything to makeup for not providing it, which breakfast is something I factor in when booking. I’ll pay a little more if I don’t have to go out and buy breakfast. And then this morning, we had no water. They said it was a busted boiler and they had called plumbers but no clue when it would be back so we had to go to our daughters family weekend tailgate at UNCC without showering and brushed out teeth and washed face with bottled water we brought. And we couldn’t flush the toilet. Nothing was offered to us to make up for the experience and it was a big inconvenience. We probably won’t be staying here again.

The staff was extremely helpful and did it with an attitude that made you feel that they WANTED to assist you. I was very appreciative of the way they tried to be kind to everyone even in instances where the customer was being rude. They helped me get service to unlock my car. They provide service to help a lost child on the premises find their family members. Great place to stay. Pricing was very reasonable. Great location as well.

Many food choices for family within walking distance of hotel. Staff friendly and accommodating. Rooms were perfect for overnight stay. Would definitely stay here again.
