Comfort Suites University - Research Park

My 75 year old Aunt & I traveled to Charlotte, NC for a family members 60th Birthday party. The carpet in the room was soiled & dirty. The toilet paper holders were Rusty & So Old you couldn't put the toilet paper in the roll. The Bed Pillows were Small like Seat Cushions! Worst hotel I've stayed in IN 20 years!

This property was very nice. The only problem we had was the pool not being open in the middle of July in 95 degrees outside. The pool was waiting for inspection. You have to request housekeeping, it’s not done on daily basis. This breakfast was nice. If they get those couple of things correct for next year maybe our family will stay there for graduation.

Elevators and ice machines didn’t work the front desk (receptionist) was never in a professional mode the way they dressed spoke and acknowledged the guest I though the receptionist was talking to me and she was on the phone and told me hold on stuck her finger up signal one to wait while she is on the phone the continental breakfast I did not eat area was not clean and hard to communicate cause I don’t speak English neither did they and parking lot was full of glass and transients walking around one man slept in the lobby for two nights kids running up down hallway loud it was just miserable and you guys charged me 35 extra for what

Me and a friend of mine were staying from Saturday to Wednesday because we were going to a concert. Everything seemed fine the first two days, but I kid you not. I walked out and near the stairwell there was a homeless man starting dead at me. I don’t know how long he was in there for so I immediately went downstairs. He followed me and asked if I had any socks and told the front desk and he told me he would take care of it. He went upstairs with us and told the man “again?” So this is not the first time this has happened! And they didn’t accomadate us for anything. The man was still there and he didn’t leave for another hour after he was told to do so. On Tuesday, me and my friend were sleep and house keeping came; and instead of knocking on the door the forced themselves in, luckily we had the top lock on! Keep in mind we are TWO WOMEN. Would not recommend this place.

Pros: the staff was friendly. Cons: room wasn’t that clean, there was a smell in the room and also saw few bugs. The bread served in breakfast was old. There was pot smell inside and outside of the building. I would not stay with family again in this hotel.

It was an easy check in once we got to the hotel. Our first night one of the babies became ill and had an incident in the bed. We stripped all of the sheets off of the bed and went to the front desk the next morning to ask for room service to change bed sheets. We were told that we would be in the queue for the house keeper to do so. When we returned to our dismay the bed linen wasn’t changed. I went down to ask for more linen to be told what we ask for on other shifts she can’t control. When we asked for the linen to make up the bed we was met with an attitude.

The room was fine, but other parts of the hotel were not good. The parking lot seemed sketchy, as there were two parked cars that had their windows busted out and lots of beer bottles and trash. The front desk people were not helpful and a little rude, and the breakfast wasn’t good and was missing a lot of items. I picked this hotel because of the pool, but the pool was empty and closed- in the middle of summer. My kids were disappointed. Also, they only cleaned my room once the three nights I was there, and it was hard to get fresh towels.

Tamika was the best hotel desk manager ever! She took care of us as if we were family. The breakfast was great! The hotel was spotless! Also, for going to concerts... the hotel is only three miles away from the PNC pavillion! Awesome people at this Comfort Suites.

Front desk seems like she didn’t want to be there. Wife and I chose this hotel because of the pool, but it was green with algae around the pool. When I booked I was just told that there was a pool but not that it hasn’t been maintained in awhile. I am handicapped and finding a parking space was horrible unless I wanted to park at the bottom of parking lot by the fence line. I eventually started parking on the side of the hotel that was closer to the front door. The room was dirty, stained carpets, smelly like cigarettes. I will never book a stay at this hotel again and I will not recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family.

The property and staff were nice but I booked this property for the reason of it having a pool for my children to swim and when we get there the pool is closed down because it’s broken and that was one of the main reasons why I booked with that property
