Just a 1 night stay with 2 young grandkids traveling home from week at Bald Head Island NC. In my 6 decades of family/business travel I'd rate this hotel as a low 4 out of 5. Huge cost for mediocre accommodations compared to much cheaper stays along and interstate. Oh... 2:00am charge of $25 for parking lot parking at hotel followed by trying to get you to pay $25 when you leave the next morning. Buyer beware.... much better for much less just around the corner!

Pretty solid place, only downside is the walls are paper thin. Doesn't work well when bad parents let their bad kids scream and slam stuff early in the morning. Also, the toilets would randomly flush, it was odd.

We stayed here for 3 nights as a family of four, and we had a good experience! It's not anything fancy or luxurious (but we didn't need that with 2 kids in toe for the weekend). The lobby and restaurant were nice and seemed to have been updated recently. My kids loved the breakfast buffet and the "magic doors" in the lobby. The rooms could certainly use an update. They were clean and we made do, but the bathtub/shower was TINY and the room showed its age. But it worked for us just fine. Just nothing amazing. It was mostly walkable - which is why we chose this specific hotel. It's just a hop, skip, and jump from Mellow Mushroom and Green Sage (some of our fave spots to eat) The parking was super easy and convenient, as well. They have valet or self parking (we did self parking) All in all, this hotel did the job. I wish the rooms were a bit more updated, but we had a great trip.

The property itself was very nice and offered a lot of things so you wouldn’t have to leave the hotel. Very close to the Thomas Wolfe house which is fantastic. Our bathroom counter was dirty and and the in room creamer for the coffee was expired (so always check it before you drink it)! There was another patron (out of the hotels hands) that had a little too much to drink at the lobby bar and ended up hitting the floor in front of our child. Very nice space - but we would come back just the two of us and not with our kids.

Apparently the jotel has an issue with television sets. Ours was a purplish picture and very dim. Maintenance came abd basically said they couldn't do anything and over 35 rooms have broken tvs. They know it and clearly dont care. Management is too cheap to get new televisions using the excuse they dont make that model anymore. Pool was clean and warm. Breakfast was subpar on food but service was good. They also billed card for prepaid room. So lots of minor issues and general feeling of malaise and management that just doesn't care. Only compensation was removing valet charge. Avoid this property if you have kids and they like tv.

Had an excellent stay! Pool and spa were amazing, great place to chill with family. Really close to everything in downtown. Was my first time visiting Asheville and the hotel did not disappoint.

This hotel has a fantastic location and is way more affordable than most other Asheville options that are downtown. You can walk from here to anything in the downtown area and having the option for parking on site is amazing. There is a nice, outdoor sitting area just off the conference rooms which is shady and comfortable, just lovely for sitting and having a drink or working on your computer. And they have a great indoor pool if you have kids/enjoy swimming. The rooms are all you need, nice bedding, but my only complaint is the cleanliness factor. I know the place is fairly old, but my bathroom floors were sticky (ew!) and there was crud under the bed along the edge where you might still step on it, and in general the surfaces were all just a bit gross. I know it's really hard to maintain a high traffic hotel and thus I just accept this level of cleanliness/dirtiness, but I think that is also why this place if cheaper than most other places.
