Foundry Hotel Asheville, Curio Collection by Hilton

So you know there is no pool despite Hotels.com website indicating there is. The front desk attendant said yes they have heard that but don’t know how they can rectify with Hotels.com. We had a very disappointed kid.

Beautiful hotel, great location. However, disappointed I was placed in a room next to the driveway on the ground level floor, as a family with 2 young children. Room was completely overloooked by everybody entering the hotel, and we therefore had to keep our curtains closed the entire time. I got the usual ‘no other rooms available sir’ when I asked to be moved. Secondly, the remote control curtains are a disaster. Once at 6pm the curtains randomly opened, then again at 10pm and 10.30pm at night when my 2 kids were asleep and were woken up. Only to be told at reception that it is a known problem, they only have 16 frequencies for the remotes, and have 97 rooms - doesn’t take a genius to suspect this may cause a problem, even when you consider there is a max distance these remotes work from. Thirdly, to then be smirked at by reception staff as I complain again the second morning. Fourthly no housekeeping service made up the room, so when I complained about this on our second evening, was promised this would be taken care of when we were out for dinner, so I was surprised to return at 9pm and see nobody had entered the room. Fifth, I was told by reception they would speak to the manager and ensure ‘something was done’ about the service we had received, to find no compensation on check out, and in fact when we asked to speak to the manager, he was unaware of all the problems. Boutique hotel you may try to be, but the service needs to improve considerably.
