DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Santa Fe

My kids and i have stayed here several times. We love the pool/hot tub area. Great for kids and heated.

The MANAGER is the best I have met in a while and she is the ONLY saving grace. The handicapped rooms or disability access rooms, whatever u call them are a true joke for a Hilton property. You can not stick a handicapped plague on the outside wall by the door and stick a grab bar at the back of a tub in a super, SUPER small bathroom and call your room HANDICAPPED. This is not only wrong, it is a complete insult. Plus have a bed so high that short people need a small ladder to climb into. If u r handicapped then this is much harder to do. Please know I am talking about a junior suite size room too that costs over 200 a night, to begin with. This poor hotel is so outdated it is so sad. I feel for this wonderful manager who bent over backward to try to fix everything. She could not fix it but, it was not her fault. Broken and dirty recliner which was fixed but could not be cleaned, at least at that time. could go on about the issues for a long time. I will say the restaurant was not open if u wanted lunch however I must say the dinner food was exceptional for almost any hotel. The staff were all lovely. BLESS ALL THEIR HEARTS. Paris Hilton needed to sleep in my room with a handicapped person. SEE HOW THAT GOES.

Had booked a two beds in each room. They gave our family a king room so they had to go back to the request the double double. Then when we arrived I asked specifically for a room with two beds and we were still given a king. So we had go back and have the room changed to what we booked and requested to begin with. That is bad service. Once could be a mistake but when it requested upon check in as well as when reserved. No excuse.

Very nice staff, cookies were great, lobby great. Room, however, was generally ok but little things count: like sink and shower control lose-need to have a person come in with an allen wrench and tighten this stuff down.....someday, one of them will pop off with a kid using it and may not be able to shut off water. Had a nice magnification mirror with light, but the light wouldn't turn on, even after resetting the GCI button. One light by bed had two bulbs but one was burned out making it hard to read on that side. It's always the little things, isn't it?
