Pros; location, price, ease of parking, kitchens in the rooms and rooms are spacious. Cons; the building needs serious fixing, and cleaning, the elevator is slow like molasses, breakfast was minimal since they were out of everything each day, amenities? They were out, floor 4 was musty and smelly, floor 2 smelled like poop and pee, floor 3 smelled like someone dumped febreeze all over the carpet, 1st floor entrance was the best overall. Our party had 5 different rooms and each one was missing things different from the other. No towel racks, no washcloths, no a/c, broken a/c, all in all, 3 out of 5 but I wouldn't stay there again unless they completly remodeled it! Granted, the staff was light always and the cleaners were older and 1 per floor. I felt so bad for her. Sad, very sad. I wanted to love it and instead I was fired from my family from picking hotels from here on out.

This was an amazing stay. The first time my grandchildren have stayed at a hotel. They loved the swimming pool. A few more things for kids to do would be great.

I visit family in this area every year, and I'm always looking for a place to stay the night. This time I tried out the GrandStay which has always been the most expensive in the area, but I wanted an onsite workout option. The check-in was surprisingly easy, and hassle free. I'm sure this has a lot to do with the staff. The front desk staff during my entire stay was very helpful, and accommodating. When I got to the room I was impressed initially with the look of the wood-look vinyl plank flooring throughout, but then noticed that it was in desperate need of a sweeping. The front desk staff personally followed me up to the room, and swept it themselves (I had offered to do it myself, but they insisted - again, the front desk staff was amazing). I discovered that the WiFi didn't really work on my floor (the 4th floor - top floor), but worked just fine on the first floor. It was late, and I already troubled the front desk staff with the floor, so I just went to bed. This was after I took care of a medium size spider in the bathroom. In the morning I went to the workout room, and got on the elliptical. The workout room had three aerobic machines (a bike, a treadmill & the elliptical). All the machines were filthy. I went to pull out a cleaning wipe, and noticed some decolorization on the wipe where it was sticking out of the dispenser. This told me that it had been some time since anyone had used a cleaning wipe from it. The machines were all filthy.

My family stays here often. However this time they had no TV for the first 3 nights. The front desk employees were always friendly but weren’t the most helpful over the holiday as they were sure what could be done to compensate. They were able to move rooms on their final day and were compensated. Again everyone was very friendly however those that worked over the holiday needed a bit more training on compensation options.

the hotel is very nice, in a good location to anything you need, and close to many attractions and highways. Breakfast is always a personal choice, but no decaff tea, and the eggs are not REAL eggs. And we love real eggs so we didn't eat here after the first morning. Walls are apparently thin as we had no problems hearing the people on either side of us. And late at night who ever had kids was just letting them around and you could hear them on the floor. Bed was comfortable but the heating/ac unit was loud when it was running.

We are a family of 5 and stayed 4 nights . All the front desk was so amazing and friendly and accommodating ! We stayed in a suite room it had its own air conditioning unit and 2 queen beds and a pull out bed with full size fridge and dishwasher and stove . By the far the best room for a family ! Breakfast was amazing ! They kept refilling it often they didn’t let it get empty and it was delicious !! Lots of options - yogurt , fruit cups and apple sauce for kids . Waffle maker ( my favourite part ) , amazing coffee , bacon and eggs , bagels . Toast , cereal , oatmeal . The whole hotel was beautiful inside and clean and our room was very clean . The housekeeping staff did an amazing job they work so hard ! The pool was decent size and hot tub was excellent . There was no one in the pool when we used it every night it was great . We will definitely be back and only stay at this hotel when we go to Apple valley . Highly recommend 10/10 !!

Very nice stay - checkin was quick and easy, staff were all very friendly and professional. Room was clean and comfortable. Ended up with the 2 bedroom suite, which could easily sleep 6. We would highly recommend the room for larger families or those with small children since the beds are in separate rooms. Kitchenette was very usable and has a full size fridge. Lots of food and shopping options within east walking distance, including a coffee shop, a Target, and a post office. Less than 15 minutes to Mall of America and a very convenient straight drive. Complimentary breakfast was good, hot, and fresh. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked very nice and other guests seemed to be really enjoying it. We will definitely stay at this hotel again the next time we are in the area.

Upon checking in, the desk person had to be reminded why had had to take copy of card for incidental charges, one elevator for 4 floors, room was not what was expected. Last time stayed here was a different room and had thought reserved same room but not. Cheap furniture Grey room, no fire alarm/detectors only bare wires hanging from ceiling. Attempting to get to the pool area was ankle deep in water coming out into hall way when told front desk about it and asked for towels they stated that they over filled the pool and were washing the towels. The went to see if some were done. Handing me 5 towels. Over max compacity in pool and hot tub areas children with zero adult supervision. When checking out the next morning, breakfast was not good, expired food and drink and the juice dispenser tasted like mold. Again full of children with not adult in area. Rang bell 2 times waited 30 minutes for front desk person. Then tossed my door cards o. Back counter and left! Will never stay or recommend again!!
