SpringHill Suites by Marriott St. Joseph Benton Harbor

Rooms were spacious and comfy. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Enjoyed having refrigerator and microwave that worked and desk area plus comfy let out couch. Great for large families. Or just having your own little space.

They said the pool would be heated and it was not for my kids

This hotel is a newer property with upgraded features such as a firepit outdoors for guest enjoyment. The pool area is adequate but does not have a hot tub. The exercise area is a nice quiet spot for a workout and has lots of options. Breakfast isn't anything special but it is there and filling. We stayed in a suite - a large room with 2 queen beds and a pull-out couch. Our room was only sub-par for cleanliness - the toilet in the room had not been flushed, there was an empty bottle of wine in the fridge, and when we went to make the couch into a bed there was a half-eaten package of baby food that fell out of the cushions. Dust was everywhere on the appliances in the room. It made me feel like they did not bother to do anything in the room besides changing the sheets. That being said, we stayed comfortably in our room for a 2-night stay without needing much.

Check in was fine, got into our room fairly quickly and settled in for the night. We were trying to get the kids to bed since we had early morning plans. Unfortunately the toilet wasn't flushing right and the shower tub did not drain well. The water was around my ankles when showering. Did not call anyone because two kids were already asleep. The next morning we realized the coffee pot was missing the part you put the pod in. So no coffee. Everything that important in the room was not working. Told them about it in the morning and all they said was I'm sorry.

Property is more dated then what is in the picture. My children slept on the sofa in the suite which is actually a trundle bed, when we pulled it out there was crumbs everywhere from people eating on the couch. Breakfast was very disappointing, no milk for cereal. Most items were out by the time we got down around 8:15-8:30, ended up having to go to local restaurant for breakfast.

Clean and comfortable. Friendly service. No issues. Perfect size room for my family of 6

Our family stayed one night- very nice for young gentleman who checked us in to place us on first floor and by lobby- he asked and that was our preference due to elderly family member. Good breakfast and coffee- internet worked fine. Free parking.

High Spots: Nice hotel. Good location. Clean rooms. Friendly service. HVAC was quiet and effective. TV controls were good. Low Spots: A little loud (lots of families with kids running about) but it's hard to blame the hotel for that. Internet is ridiculously slow, to the point that just getting emails was difficult (and I shouldn't have to pay $5 for a decent connection.) Breakfast needed more variety (No proteins like sausage or bacon, and almost zero gluten-free options (although the egg bites *might* have been ok if they were not sharing a tin with the little quiches.) Tesla destination charger was nice, but how about a guest-paid non-Tesla option (e.g. ChargePoint?)
