Kimpton Hotel Fontenot, an IHG Hotel

Professionalism and friendliness of staff. Cleanliness of Kimpton Hotels brings my family back to Kimpton if one exists in the city. Great coffee at the Gospel. Our travel was short but sure we had everything in the room to have a good night sleep. Thank you for caring staff.

My family and I spent New Years at the Fontenot and had high expectations since it was a Kimpton ran hotel. From the start things went down hill for us. We arrived at 5pm after a 7 hour drive and room wasn’t ready yet. No problem, we would get drinks and food at their restaurant, which is really good. Once room was ready, we had to take the bags ourselves no bellboy service was available. Elevators take forever here. We arrived at the room and at first it seemed clean but found an opened bottle of Jameson inside the closet, I don’t know what disgust me more the opened bottle or that it was Jameson cheap liquor. No biggie I told my wife, I’ll just chuck it in the trash. Here’s where things are horrible. Next morning no one took out the trash, housekeeping did our beds but didn’t take out the trash. No problem, then my wife noticed there was just little toilet paper left, three women in my family do the math. So I called and requested some to please be sent up. Went out on the town came back and nothing. Told my wife let’s just go buy some. Next morning trash was still there and we had no towels. Called for towels 3 times until they brought them up after I had dried myself with the little towels, we had dinner reservations and we were in a hurry. There is no room service only in the mornings. The room was ok, the bathroom outdated and the Tv was falling from the bracket mount, couldn’t even move it or it would fall off. The hotel has a nice restaurants and bar. Great location.

Machiel at the front desk made our trip unforgettable! She was amazing from the time we walked in the door at the hotel. We felt like family as opposed to hotel guest. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of amazing! Thank you very very much Machiel.

A modern and chic stay in an ideal location. You’re a short walk from the French Quarter and near many amazing downtown restaurants (Cochon, Compere Lapin, Meril, Maypop, etc). We stayed here as a multigenerational family with adults and elderly senior travelers and had an easy time getting affordable Lyfts from the hotel to wherever we needs for $10. Our group was able to pop out for breakfast nearby the hotel, and enjoyed coming back to the lovely hotel bar (Peacock Lounge) for post-dinner drinks in the evenings. Would recommend and would stay again.

Great hotel. Walking distance to the convention center and Bourbon Street. Service was great. Would definitely return. Their gym has eucalyptus cold towels for after your work out. They offered us water or a beer upon check out. We came in from a long walk and they offered me water. They pay attention to the little things. It is family friendly but also a good place for couples or business travel. Kimpton is my new favorite hotel brand. This was my 2nd Kimpton visit in a month.

Thanks Kimpton crew for responding quickly to my emails (through app) and to my requests - this level of communication is critical for this caliber of hotel and I appreciate your prompt response. We thoroughly enjoyed dining at the peacock room - small but delicious menu. Also love the decor on the restaurant. The room had a lovely view and lots of windows which made for a comfortable stay. Parking on the street was fairly easy when needed. Staff were very friendly. We greatly appreciated the upgraded suite for our family - the bed was super comfy, the room relatively quiet due to corner location. I did not expect to get such a good nights sleep. Great location - close to Magazine st and walking distance to the French quarter. My only suggestions would be a larger sink area with brighter lighting and new carpet. A tad more ambiance to the room would be a nice touch but I did enjoy the baby blue and pink color scheme. Complimentary Coffee service downstairs was delayed for early risers and more attention to that service/perk would be appreciated next time.
