Thanks for a great stay The kids enjoyed the pool. Hoping for a great breakfast

I had a decent review (in mind) for this hotel. That until I was awaken at 6:40 in the morning by a maintenance guy trying to enter my room. Despite the fact I had a “no disturb” sign placed at the door, this guy tried to enter and if I didn’t have the lock on, I would wake up with him inside my room. So, after all the noise of the door hitting the lock a couple of times, I jumped out of the bed and confronted the person outside. That’s when I found out it was a maintenance employee that only said sorry and almost ran away. . One would think this is the worst part of the story but to me it was the customer service I got after the fact. So, I went to the front desk searching for a manager and got directed to a “senior clerk” (the manager wasn’t available that early). This guy made me repeat the story at least twice in a very infantile manner (so “he could understand”). He then proceeded with an extremely condescending approach (language wise to start with) and then escalated to the “these things happen” argument (appalling really). . He eventually apologized (as the minimum expected) but honestly, his approach not only didn’t remedy the situation at all and made things even worst.

The pool was closed due to the health department closing it. We have a young child that looks forward to swimming when we stay at a hotel. He was very sad and even cried. It would have been nice to be informed before checking in. Also the fridge did not work at all. All our food and drink became warm.

Our stay was great except for the breakfast attendant. When we checked in the staff person at the front desk told us twice that breakfast was opened from 6 am-10 am. We went to breakfast at 9 am and a very surly attendant told us it closed at 9 am. With a bad attitude, she grudgingly gave us 2 plates. I asked for a bowl for cereal. She was not happy with that. When I asked for a spoon, she really went off and started dumping boxes until she came to spoons. I was nice to her but her attitude was very rude! Everyone else was great! We usually use this hotel yearly when we visit family in Louisville for Thanksgiving. I am not sure we will use it again!

We had three families traveling together and rooms were close to each other, which was nice with the small kids

The staff was accommodating and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed during the week so twice the pool was closed when my kids went down to swim. The staff was able to safely open it back up to allow my kids the opportunity to swim very quickly! We were very happy with our stay and will definitely keep this hotel in mind the next time we travel to Kentucky.
