Boone's is a huge white beacon in the center of a busy college town. Painters were working 2 stories up when we arrived so maintenance is important to the owners. The antiques used in the building are beautiful but the atmosphere was stuffy. Even though college kids work at the hotel and in the dining room, the feel of the "tavern" was anything but relaxed. The double bed that I slept in seemed to sag on the aisle side. The TV was difficult to use- I had to get Joshua from the desk to come to fix it and show us how to use the directory. I wouldn't choose to stay here again. It's too formal for my liking.

It’s a charming historic building and the location is lovely. That being said, it is in major need of a renovation. The bathrooms are falling apart. The grout in the bathroom is moldy and the sink nearly came off the wall when I leaned over it. I left in the morning and saw someone had left their room service tray outside. It was still there… two days later! The staff is unfriendly, apathetic and unprofessional- they just don’t care. If you do decide to stay there, bring slippers. The carpets are sticky and left my feet black. Honestly, they need to do better. It’s a real shame. And yes- I’ve stayed there on more than one occasion. And yes, so have my friends and family. Consistently disappointing, but as it’s one of only a few options in town, you don’t have much choice except this overpriced hotel.

My kids and I love this place. Everyone is so friendly, and helpful, and the property is clean and wonderful. I would stay here again anytime!

This was the only time I was ever made to feel bad about spending money at someone’s hotel. The front desk manager Debbie/Donna actually criticized me for using Hotels.com saying that I should have book direct. She asked me how much I paid when I told her $110 per night she laughed at me and said she would’ve only charged me $75 per night. Really made me feel uncomfortable and that I made the wrong choice and staying at this hotel. To top it all off they had a Hotels.com board on the wall for excellence. She was rude and she should rethink about how to treat her customers. The young kid at the counter that was assisting me was very embarrassed of the whole situation. Will not stay here again just because of that experience
