Comfort Suites Cedar Falls

Adequate hotel. Traveled with 2 children, ages 6 and 8 Room smelled a little like a gym. Lobby had strong smell of air fresheners that was overpowering. The breakfast had a lot of options which was nice Kids had fun in pool The limited housekeeping was a turnoff.

Was a nice place to stay, very accommodating. The pool was nice however very cold (not that the kids minded).

Great check in and staff was friendly. Our room was clean and kids loved the pool and hot tub.

Room was dirty and dusty, bits of trash and crumbs on the floor, stained and wet curtains in main room. Sofa pull out bed sheets were covered in stains and clearly not changed from the previous guest. However the breakfast was decent and the pool was fantastic for kids.

Staff must of had an staff appreciation night, handing out prizes etc. allowing the staff children to run and scream in/ out of the building up/ down 3 floors. Staff had no control of the kids, making this very uncomfortable. Frustrating for visitors that came to have a relaxing stay. Checking out- staff was repeatedly told how disruptive the kids were, no compensation was offered.

Very clean and quiet for our 1 night stay. The kids enjoyed the pool area and breakfast was good.

The room was large and clean. The staff we talked to were all helpful and friendly. However, this was the loudest hotel I've ever stayed in. We had to listen to the TV of the room next to us all night long. We could hear it as if it were in our room. The walls must not be very well insulated. Our room was near the elevator. We heard it every time it opened. We heard every time a guest got ice or a soda. There were kids screaming, running up and down the halls and slamming doors all night. I understand that wasn't the hotels fault but it sounded like they were in our room. The pool area was nice and clean but the chemicals were so strong it was burning mine and my husband's eyes so badly we had to leave the pool earlier than we had hoped. We werent even in the water. We were just sitting by the pool while our daughter played. Once we got back to the room the chemicals had done such a number on her we had to give her allergy meds because she couldn't breathe through her nose. She was fine the next day so she wasn't sick. Overall I was disappointed with our stay.

The pool area was very nice. Lots of windows and space inside. Hot tub and toddler area was a nice touch too. The hot breakfast in the morning was also very good.

Upon check in, our first room was next to a room with two very loud barking dogs. They gave us a new room and there were 40 children wet from the pool running up and down the hall screaming and slamming door. We could not imagine being able to get any sleep with all the noise so we checked out immediately. I’ve never seen anything like that. Could hear complete conversations from people inside their rooms from the hall and running and stomping from the floor upstairs. The children wet from the pool soaked the tile and the elevator because there were no towels at the pool. Worst experience at a hotel ever and we were there 15 minutes.

The desk staff and cleaning staff were very nice. The breakfast staff left plenty to be desired in the way of friendliness. Though it isn't the hotel's fault, there were unruly children RUNNING up and down the hallways and banging on walls all night both nights we were there. We asked them many times, very kindly, to be quiet. I resorted to giving the young dads the mom look, which only lasted a few minutes. Dads were drinking and didn't care. Each time my husband went to the desk to ask for help getting a little peace on our floor, no one was around. When we called, it was not picked up. Again, the staff who was around during the day time were very friendly, but we never saw any night staff! We will not be returning because of this issue. We are in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area at least 3 times per year, often renting multiple rooms. We chose this place over our usual because of the free breakfast and the hot tub being available but even that was in poor repair with jets barely working. We'll definitely be going elsewhere in the future. I'm sad because I really wanted this place to be a win for future stays.
