Sleep Inn & Suites

Stayed two nights while in Columbus for a family reunion. The room and amenities were perfect for our family.

The hotel itself is in a great location. Within walking distance to several places to eat including McDonald’s, Culver’s, and Starbucks. Pool was not heated. Room was clean but had a weird smell. I’m gonna assume they have a moisture and mildew problem since there was a dehumidifier in the room. Bathroom was small with a sliding wood door and a weird shower that was like showering in a capsule. Bathroom light is on a timer and it shut the lights off during my shower. The hotel was completely booked do to travel basketball and softball. Which means teenage kids running everywhere, slamming doors, beating on walls, running the hall ways at 3 am. I went to call the front desk and apparently the phone is only for decoration, it didn’t even have a cord. Went to the desk no one was there. Turns out the room next to us was nothing but teenage girls with NO adults. Found that out after having to knock on their door to get them to calm down. The morning staff at checkout was nice and apologetic.

The evening front desk staff was not very friendly. They treated guests like children telling us that we need to be in our rooms by 11p. We had a game of euchre going on in the commons (on a Saturday evening) and she was very rude about it. She said no one had complained and there was not any rooms nearby so I’m not sure why it was an issue. We are 40 years old- mature adults. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and did an amazing job!

I booked the room for my family. My mother Inlaw arrived first and the desk clerk tried to talk her out of a $200 cash deposit for incidentals. Not cool.

Pro nice beds showers felt good . Breakfast was goods and staff was kind. Con our door had rrouble lacthing a light in our room wouldn't turn off and we had asked for a room with a bathtub due to ypung children and was told bybthem that wasent included in our rate

Ot was nothing special by any means butnit was priced right and worked well. Inwill saybitbwas full kids baseball/softball, i was either extremely tired or it was pretty soundproof as we didn't here kids running all night

The room we were given on the third floor was dank and moist and smelled like mold. We asked for a different room and were given one on the first floor that smelled a little bit better but had a portable dehumidifier in the room that I’m sure helped. The main light switch in this room didn’t work but it was late and we needed our kids to sleep so we hunkered down for the night. The basin in the dehumidifier filled up in the middle of the night and gave out a series of shrill beeps waking us up. We awoke to the same strong mold smell and moistness in the air. As we looked around we noticed there was rust on almost all of the metal surfaces and fixtures in the room, indicating long term moisture exposure. They obviously have a mold problem and are not doing enough to mitigate it. It isn’t clean or safe.
