Holiday Inn Express & Suites Chicago West-Roselle, an IHG Hotel

The hotel itself was fine. Rooms were clean. But paid $400 for 2 nights for kids to swim in a pool. The pool had mold. Made my girls skin peel. And the hot tub was broke. Need to put this on site cuz we wouldn’t have there if we knew. We told front desk and they didn’t car. Keys also kept reprogramming. We had to go downstairs 3 time and so did our neighbors. Just annoying and lost internet during rain.

The pool was way over chlorinated and my kid got a rash

Pros: I forgot to pack the kids toothbrushes and the hotel happily provided us some. The rooms were fine. Cons: The pool and hot tub were very disgusting to the point that I didn't go in. There was lint all over in the pool and on the floor. We went from a Saturday-Sunday. I figured it would be cleaned by sunday. We waited to get in the pool since it was closed and they had people in there cleaning it (I saw with my own eyes). They left... and we go in and the water is still cloudy and there was so much lint floating that there is NO way they didn't see it and the day before you couldn't see your feet about 3 feet down. It didn't smell like chlorine either. The pool towels also looked dirty too. The pancake maker was broken and the sign is so small, that everyone pressed the button and waited thinking it was working since we all missed the 2x3 table tent sign. A bigger sign would be best. Wish they had a waffle maker.

Front desk staff was awesome. Place was clean, although it is time for a carpet and furniture refresh. Place was loaded with families,.including mine, but was quiet sleep. Pool was well stocked and restocked with towels and great temps for kids in both pool and hot tub. Floor of pool is brutal on feet. Swim shoes seriously a good idea for little ones. Mine had several cuts :(. They did make you sign a weird morals sheet at beginning, which did not stop my neighbor from going HARD on weed in the am lol.

When I first arrived lady just leaned back from her chair in the office and asked if I was checking in. She didnt even get up. Then we tried calling the front desk but the line was busy for hours. We had to walk down there. There was a birthday party in the pool area. They had a boom box with really loud music you couldn’t even talk. We had to force our children to leave. The hot tub was also closed. We found trash in the room and they didn’t clean up. And you had to wait forever for an elevator because there was only one working and housekeeping uses the elevator as well.

When we check in, everything was fine. What the hot tub was that hot? And it smelt like fish. My best friend had a room there too. And she said the same thing. A lot of people complained because it smelled like fish and it was dirty if there was a film on the. Regular pool, it's almost like they didn't play chemicals in the hot tub at all. Me and my best friend will never stay there again. And I complained about it and it took a very long time for them to say. Oh, it's gonna heat up, and that was a lot of people point of saying they're because of the hot tub. Even the next day in the morning, my kid went swimming and I was in the hot tub and the hot tub still smelt like fish and it wasn't warm and the water was coming out of the hot tub from the jets. It was just spraying out. It's not like they had enough water in it. And when we went back in the pool the next day. It's still had a film on it like it was dirty. But hot tub still wasn't hot enough to water was pouring out of the jets like spit. Now like they didn't have enough water in the hot tub. It's still smell like fish. I even called customer service. End the talk about this. And they thought that I wanted to change rooms. And that's not what I wanted. I wish I can get a credit. Are we getting my money back? Our part of it?

This property is close to family and we have stayed here during the holidays for the last several years. However, the room furniture, carpeting, etc. are in need of a refresher.

I made the reservation through expedia and for the Holiday Inn @ Schaumburg. Somehow, our reservation went through the one in Roselle, which does not offer the same services or have as good of a rating. I checked in 1 night early, and my wife signed up for their rewards program. They offered a free upgrade and late checkout with signing up. We were given a suite for when we arrived and then were notified that we needed to leave the suite that had just been promised to us for the whole week. We speak a little spanish but nowhere near fluent, so there was a big communication barrier. We checked with the frint desk to find out what was going on since I made sure to pay extra to guarantee and lock in our reservation. The suite they gave us had been booked for some of the nights we were there, so we had to move to what we had originally booked. We were moved to a basic 2 queen bedroom that conjoins on the 4th floor. We went to their pool, and the chlorine burned my eyes so bad I didn't feel like I could open them until after washing them out for about 5 mins. There are also tiles broken and missing in the pool area. My kid ended up getting some pretty bad scratches on her foot from them. Throughout the stay, we tried coordinating with housekeeping and the front desk to get clean towels and trash bags so we could maintain or mess. Whenever we went through the front desk, there were no issues with any help we needed. As soon as room service was involved there were issues such as not

It is close to family, roomy and comfortable. Staff is always friendly and attentive.
