Hampton Inn McHenry

I have stayed here offten, while visiting friends and family nearby. I only had one slightly disappointment, and that was a not so clean wood flooring. And hair found on desk by coffee pot- not mine? But, over all will stay again!

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. My kids enjoyed the indoor pool Immensely. I would happily stay here again.

The room I reserved was under construction. No one said anything to me. I was given a room then had to go back to the reception desk to ask for my original room. That is when I found out it wasnt available. I had called multiple times throughout the week to make sure my reservation was ok and that the pool was good as it was for my daughter's birthday. Yet no one said anything. The room they gave me was too small for the number of guests. 4 kids 1 adult. So they made me pay for an additional room that was connected. I couldnt cancel as it was for my daughters birthday and she had friends coming to go swimming and have a sleep over. Now I am out even more money. Very disappointed in the service i was given. This would have been a vacant room room the night and instead, i had to pay them.

Great proximity to family for the holidays

Stay was ok but they were not prepared for winter. Northern Illinois and did not have a/c heating system insulated from the -8 degree temps and the blowing wind. Contacted front desk and their maintenance man stuffed some towels in the frame to block some of the cold. Another room not offered but since family lives close by, we stayed. Not too many choices in McHenry, IL.

Our room was nice, everything we needed for our one night stay. Unfortunately the hot tub was not working, it was not even filled with water and we had a few guests that were looking forward to using it. I was never informed upon booking or checking in that it was out of order so that was a bummer. Another disappointment was the lawn mower that started mowing hotel property outside our window behind the property at 6:58am on Saturday. I understand that those services are necessary but in my opinion that was disrespectful to paying customers at the hotel. We frequently visit family in the area and drive 5 hours from Michigan to do so, I will most likely look elsewhere for our next visit.

Short trip for a family event. Speedy check in. Excellent visit

First time visitor. Selected it with positive comments from other guests in mind. Staff was excellent. Room was excellent. Parking area was safe and accessible. Exercise room had functioning equipment with quality TV. Breakfast area was clean and welcoming. Have family in the area, and will use this facility on a regular basis.

I was visiting my 90 year old mother who lives with my sister as my sister did not have the accomodations to put two people up. I needed handicapped room for the grab bars in the shower.The towels and sheets were awesome plentiful and smelled fresh.The refrigerator froze almost solid a pop and it exploded over the bed cover. And the maid must have flipped the remote making up the bed as we searched for it to find it under the bed! We checked in at 8pm on July 7th. At 08:10am the 8th the maid softly knocked and tried to enter, lucky the slider bolt was on and she quickly said sorry and shut the door. My husband was standing at the coffeepot by the outside sink in his underwear and gave us all a start.We stayed in the exact room last year with my daughter and baby 5 months old at the time. It was clean but we got a better deal. $650.00 was way too much for 4 nights stay. I may consider another chain next year. The breakfast was great, as they are at all Hampton Inns.Coffee was the best in town.So it was a good and bad experience.

visited with family that was in from hawaii, went to gurnee mall and just rested.
