Comfort Suites Elgin

The room was fairly clean. However, there was obvious damage to a seating bench. In the bathroom, there was hair on the floor and in the tub. The sink faucet was loose and in danger of breaking off. When taking a shower, the tub drain was completely clogged and made the shower dangerously unsafe. We were there as part of a larger group for a sports tournament. The hotel treated us like thieves. All the ice machines were "broken". The elevator was "broken" and they had people stationed out side the breakfast area forbidding people to take any breakfast foods back to their rooms. One of the families had their room re-rented, while they were staying in it! They gave out a key to the room to complete strangers! The hotel refused to apologize or acknowledge the error, instead choosing to blame the tournament family and telling them they should "vacate the premises" if they didn't like what happened. Overall, I will make sure to advise future tournament organizers of this horrible place and will advise the over 300+ families in our sports organization to never stay here.

The hotel looks to be recently remodeled, but 1 of the 2 rooms we booked had literal MUSHROOMS growing out of the carpet and wall where the AC unit was leaking. They were aware that some units were having that issue at the front desk. So why wouldn't they inspect every room and make sure the leaky AC units were fixed prior to renting out the rooms?!?! This is a health department issue. They agreed to move our room to another one on the same floor, but called (while we were at a family funeral) to say it couldn't be the one they initially reassigned us to because they found out that AC unit would only blow hot air. The front desk clerk handling all this was sweet and apologetic, making sure that we finally got assigned a safe and comfortable room, but COME ON! She was unable to give us any kind of discount on the room since there was no manager on site. Quite the hassle, and we were very disappointed that this potential health issue wasn't handled better by the management.

Loud adults and children in the hotel lobby before and after 10:00pm. I went to visit with some friends in the lobby and had to go back to our rooms. Children running through the hotel and very loud people made any conversation impossible.

Comfortable beds, clean, great breakfast,fast wifi, and great for the kids to rest or swim between baseball games.

The hotel was clean, fresh and delightful. The breakfast was varied. In the evening, on a Tuesday night, the neighboring restaurant/pub had very loud music playing. We masked this with the room fan but it might be a consideration for those with families. The suggestion for the breakfast area (which had a t.v.) is please tune the t.v. to a station other than Fox such as NBC or CBS or ABC. Also, it would be nice to turn on the captioning.

Stayed with our adults kids in 2 rooms. Wonderful rooms and accommodations. Beds were comfortable. My only complaint would be the manager told us we couldn't take our free breakfast food into our rooms. Which doesn't make sense because you can bring outside food and take to your room ??? Now they make you sit in an area with other strangers while they cough and sneeze instead of allowing my family to eat in a peaceful non infectious environment. Shame on them for that rule.

We've stay at this place in the past because of it's location, convenient to what we do in the area. We stay here when we visit our son and his family. The pool has been closed every time in the past, it is now operated by new people. Decorated outside and inside very nicely. When you pull up to the parking low the outside has fresh bright new painted brick, and the parking lot looks good. Flowers in the holders, the lobby has been redecorated, the lounge area or breakfast area is medium sized and clean and the breakfast is hot or cold. Everything but the coffee is put away so is fresh the next morning. The room was remodeled, up to date, the floors half carpet and half laminate which we appreciated cause we used the pool...came back wet. coffee pot in room..the cost was still low...i imagine they will have to raise the rates but i will still stay there if they do..very nice. the people were happy to work there in a newly owned remodeled hotel...

We were happy to get ajoining rooms. What we were not happy about is the fact that apparently we were able to lock out baby in the room with NO WAY TO GET IN!!!! NONE OF THE STAFF HAD ACCESS TO GET IN AND HAD TO CONTACT THE GENERAL MANAGER WHO WASN'T EVEN ON SITE TO UNLOCK THE DOOR!! That took close to an hour. We were also threatened with having to pay $400 if we called the fire department to enter the room. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen for sure!!!!

My kids found a Feminine Pad n the sheets which proved they didn’t change the sheets manager didn’t look surprised wen I told him he didn’t even offer Anything for the pad found n bed jus a im sorry they saw that Also I left my son crocs I called 10 minutes up the road nd they claim they wasn’t in room wen I left them on table n room They stole my baby crocs
