Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Elgin, IL

It was really close to our conference & fit my family, but the extra blankets were pathetic and ragged after being stingy on giving them out. Thankfully we had brought some sleeping bags. Breakfast was excellent though! Lots of choices and varied every day with eggs, sausage, & even biscuits & gravy 1 day!

Unfortunately, when we checked in our room, the bathroom had a cleaning sponge still in there and then the back of the stool had some feces on it. We called down and they told us there was no one able to clean. We were actually on our way out running late right after we checked in so they said they could possibly change rooms when we got back although we never heard anything so I just cleaned the Toilet as good as possible and wiped a few things down . The man that was working in the kitchen in the morning for breakfast he was very on it. Everything was very clean. I did appreciate his work. He helped with our grandchildren.

Traveled with family members for weekend gathering in NW Chicago suburbs. Three adults in two rooms. One room rated excellent; other room good, but had distinct smell & linens were uncharacteristically rough.

Room was fine. Clean and updated, if a bit dated. Staff polite. Screaming uncontrolled children was an issue and the walls and doors do not keep the noise out. Breakfast was ok, not great, I have definitely had better quality. Biggest issue is the nonexistent WiFi. It’s kind of there but so slow it’s not usable. Poorest WiFi I have had in a stay. If you’re a business person find another place to stay if you require service.

Room was nice and clean. Bed was very comfy. Slept like a baby.

We were only in nightly long enough to sleep, shower, and head back to our family visit. Everything was clean, well cared for, and comfortable. The only drawback would be the feather pillows, but that only pertains if you happen to be allergic.

For starters, this hotel was nothing like it was shown to be online. The shower rod was literally hanging from the wall ready to come down on us at any moment. Because of the angel of how it was, the floor got soaked in water which created a slip & fall incident potential. We advised the front desk and they seemed to be unbothered about it. Actually, any time we needed the front desk, not a single person was present. We requested 2 towels and they had a blood spots on them, how is this even slightly hygienic?? We were happy there was a pool to use but the door wouldn't open with any room keys so the front desk had to come let you in and out. They seemed annoyed and decided to prop the door open anyway. Isn't this a hazard? Any little kid could've wandered in and caused a huge accident. I'm sure everyone can already imagine what the cleanliness was like and I'll spare the details but carpets were stained and just nasty. I would like to say something positive but quite frankly, I can't. We were super unimpressed for the price. Not that it's a huge deal but upgrading to having SOME USB ports would be cool too considering it's 2023.

The room we stayed in the carpet was had spots every where, the door was extremely hard to open and close because it was broken so my husband had to boot it open and closed for us to get in and out of or it wouldn’t close! They advertise a pool which we booked there for the children to swim as well but it was out of order. And we had an extremely rude staff member come knock on our door literally 15 minutes after we arrived at the hotel to ask us how long the kids would be walking and running around because he was the overnight employee and he was trying to sleep under us and he couldn’t because the children kept walking around!! The morning staff never spoke or acknowledged us the nicest person in the entire hotel staff that we encountered was the man that cooked and set out the breakfast! He was kind he was cleaning the entire time we were in there, he was friendly and helpful to the children!

Facility has a smell, possibly from the pool room….musty. Only found out pool under renovation upon arrival. Was counting on that for the family! Room needed renovation…smell..dirty carpet, holes in comforter, etc. non welcoming staff….felt like we were a burden.

Good value. Although the room was average and had typical wear and tear, the price was fair and staff friendly. The two queen beds were comfortable but the pull out sofa is not. Pull out is ok for a young child. For a family of 6 like ours, the free breakfast is a major bonus. There were a lot of food choices and all tasted good. If your spending a day in Chicago, the drive might be a bit long for some 45-60 min depending on traffic) but we were fine with it. I would stay there again.
