The Drake has changed since we’ve been coming here over the past ten years and let me say things have changed. The cleanliness is subpar, and the night time upstairs bar is no longer open. Oh and the walls have gotten thinner because we got to listen to our neighbors not only chat blue pills and then use said blue pills. And then the next night some kids checked in next door and we got to listen to them barf all night. Great experience.

First off. We used to LOVE The Drake... I was so excited to stay here again... My husbands family stayed here for 40 yeasr . A few times taking up the whole floor.! Us over 25 years. Many of the staff in years past knew us..greeted us w/ such professionalism. We always had an outstanding experience. That being said..This short stay (Thank God) was one night was so incredibly disappointing. It was actually a shame. We frequent Chicago often. No room service, no 10th floor..executive area???? We had to buy our own coffee!!!! The front desk help was a joke! Nothing like years in past. Professionalism does not exist here anymore. The bed/pillows were terrible. I told the front desk checking out, trash has been in our hallway for 2 days. Short of the beautiful decor there's nothing unique about The Drake anymore. In closing..I passed on our experience to many people/ friends and will continue to do so..as that is literally the only way things will change. Covid has been OVER. The Four Seasons, The Ritz etc has it figured out. I just HOPE/PRAY...The Drake can make a comeback. If it ever does...we'd be thrilled to stay here again. Thank you. Valentina Kaspari

Fantastic time by the Magnificent Mile. I took my family from Florida there and we had a great time. Historic feel and wonderful amenities. We will be back for another stay.

Bags not delivered for 2-hours, & had to call 3-times. Crib requested on reservation (w/ hotel directly) not noted. Crib requested at check-in (11am) not delivered. Crib called for two additional times, not delivered. Crib requested in person at front desk post 11PM (12-hours later) w/ sleeping baby in-hand, was told "shortly" w/ no apology, and was not until manager requested was it Crib delivered. There are many senior people standing and walking around and many hourly people standing and walking around and it is clear their is no management presence, sense of urgency, attention to detail, or any hospitality quotient involved. The property is clearly depressed and the service will continue to stress the financials further. Not for a lack of funding, but simply for a lack of choice of effort is the experience quite bad. No excuse for this. Never be back. Never recommend. Have shared our experience w/ dozens of people thus far. Stay away.

We just had a great stay at The Drake....our first time staying there! We arrived Friday afternoon, a little before check in time but our room was ready. The room was great! We dropped our bags and headed to the restaurant to split a fabulous cheese burger (late lunch) and have a cocktail! We relaxed in the room trying to decide where to go for dinner and went back to the same restaurant. :) They have a fabulous carrot cake/ice cream. Each morning my husband went down and picked up coffee for us....the service and friendliness there was superb! The location was great! We met family at The Peninsula for Sunday brunch and we could walk there. We were able to leave our bags with the bellman during brunch, swing back by, retrieve them and Uber to Midway. During the stay, I received text messages checking to see how our stay was going and if we needed anything. I already look forward to staying here again!

We love a November visit to the Drake, with beautiful decorations for the holidays and old-world charm. The family suites have lots of room plus 2 bathrooms which is a big plus! Breakfast downstairs at Cafe on Oak was delicious, with the best service possible. Thank you!

This hotel has certainly gone downhill. Room was a large family room, size was excellent. Just felt dirty, paint peeling off the trim and the ceilings. Cobwebs, dust all over. Carpet was thread bear in the middle of the room, you could nearly see the floorboards under the carpet. Bathroom ceiling had brown spots all over it. Maybe there was a shortage of staff, but the cleaning standards shouldn’t slip that much. Whoever checks the standards needs to be held to task. There was no room service or concierge, would have been nice to know before we travelled there. Had free breakfast included. Told us where to go in the morning, however when we got there the next morning it was shut? Only open on certain days? Huh.. Told to use a coffee shop instead. Then told us we had only $15 each person, that was just enough to buy a coffee and pastry. The omelette in the breakfast restaurant was over $20 plus coffee and the rest would have blown through the free breakfast is a second, so no free breakfast included really. They should disclosure at booking. Just seems underhanded. Have stayed her numerous times, this was the worst by far. Back to the Langham for us.
