Loved the historic elements of the hotel! We enjoyed the old-style room. Staff was nice, but they didn't make up room when we asked -- arrived much later. Still, what a charming hotel to still have among the high-rises that have ruined Waikiki Beach. Staying there fulfilled my childhood wish! Mahalo!

I have stayed at this property with Orbitz four times. I feel like the property is in disrepair. Everything was unpleasurably EXPENSIVE! During past visits, employees were always keeping the place tidy. Also too many screaming kids - which I had never experienced here.

We stayed at this hotel 14 years ago when it was a Westin and then to now. Costs very high for a property that needs updated carpets etc. swimming pool dirty and tons of children in what is called an adult only pool. In fact last day pool closed due to poop in it. The Outrigger pool next door very clean and clear and cost 40% less.

Wonderful property for the entire family. Shared pool and beach frontage, food options on-site and next door were perfect for children and adults. Front desk and cleaning staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Concierge could have been a bit more helpful.

Very special hotel on a Waikiki beach. The vibe is unbeatable. They treat you as a family member. Beautiful backyard and the best coffee in a Royal Hawaiian bakery. Great place to escape for a Hawaiian sunsets . Thankful for time we spent there.

This is a lovely property close to good shopping and easy access to transportation while also offering onsite access to a gorgeous beach/ocean and lots of ocean activities. The downsides are the expense - VERY expensive food and drink - and the very, very small pool. The condition of the pool chairs is also very bad; our rented "cabana" had torn cushion covers and offered no privacy because the pool area is so tight and small. Thankfully, the hotel does provide access to the much larger and better pool at the nearby Sheraton hotel, though only to the family/kids pool, not the nicer infinity pool. The gym at the Royal Hawaiian is also a bit of a joke.

Amazing property and experience. We'll long stay was just right. It got a bit expensive with eating out nearby, but the pool and ocean and other properties were great. Only "complaint", if you can call it that, is that I would have liked a bit more thorough cleaning while we stayed there; however, staff did a great job throughout the trip. Wouldn't really recommend for larger families, but for a couple, it was an amazing experience

Me and my family stayed in the suite room for 2 days, and everyone was completely blown away by the antique and beautiful atmosphere. And all the hotel staff were super friendly. Also, the location of the hotel was really convenient, so it was nice to have all the amenities nearby. It is one of the hotels that my family and I want to go to again when the opportunity arises.

Knowing that the hotel was based on a historic building, I didn’t expect it to be super modern, but also did not expect flies in the room coz no screens were installed. The shower stopped working on our last night of stay, only producing hot water (even when put to the cold section), making it not useable and irritating for the kid. One of the windows was also broken and cannot be closed so I had to called for a technician to close for me (the technician was great). Other little things like TV remote was super unresponsive and they constantly run out of beach towels before close (5pm) at the beach/pool area. Pool was quite small for the class of hotel in this area. There’s also no accessible walkway if you come through the main entrance so good luck with strollers. There was some bakery coupon upon check-in but didn’t say anything about needing to validate it in a separate section of which the staff took 15 mins to ask various questions and trying to promote other Marriott products. I’d say don’t bother coz the bakery/coffee was under par. Coffee was straight from a coffee machine. The biggest up side of the hotel is its convenience. Right next to shopping on main street it’s tough to beat. It’s also by the beach with its own pathway to Waikiki. Room was otherwise clean and quite and stylish with an historic vibe. The front and back gardens at the back of the hotel are also very nice with old trees and lawns for walkabout. Giving it a more secluded feel.

+The hotel has a peaceful atmosphere-a welcome escape from hectic Waikiki. +I loved the views from the ground floor. One way-ocean, the other way a lush tropical garden. The best part-there are rocking chairs for guests to sit and admire the views. +We had a big lanai/balcony with a sofa overlooking the beach. -for the toiletries, we had to call and ask after the first night, but it got better after that. +My kids loved the Sheraton pool which were were allowed to use.
