We were not informed until check in that the pool was closed. They traveling with 4 little kids to a hotel in Hawaii with no pool. We also were informed at check in that the parking lot is full and we would have to find our own parking. After finding my own parking several blocks away and having to pay $70 a day for it, I was verbally accosted by one of the valet drivers for pulling into the hotels parking area to pick up my family and our luggage. To get to the Continental breakfast you had to walk through the fitness center as the breakfast is on the pool deck, so while eating you got to listen to men jackhammering the bottom of the pool, and get concrete dust in your coffee. I will never stay at another Hyatt property.

We stayed as a family of 5. The stay was average at best. The buffet style breakfast had limited choice, nothing but fruit for dairy intolerant. The pool is tiny and not the cleanest. The elevators take an absolute age. Room cleaners came in twice in 8 days and wouldn’t touch the beds if anything was on them……great when your kids have stuffed toys 🙄. The stairs, which were right next to our room, echoed even with fairy footsteps and often kept our kids awake or woke them up. Staff were ok, didn’t go out of their way to make the stay more than average.
Usage of body boards, beach chairs and buckets was handy.
The whole island is expensive, we were prepared for that but worth noting.
Hyatt is in a great location for the beach and a sectioned off swimming area in the ocean.
It serves a purpose for the 8 night stay, but would not stay here again.

We liked that it is family friendly , you can get towels and chairs for the beach as well as boggie boards.we preferred traveling away from Wakki to less busy beaches. However if you are renting a car be prepared not a lot of parking at the hotel. We had to park and walk 20 -30 minutes at times.

Great location very close to the beach. Breakfast makes it easier for families to start a day:) would love to see more varieties on a daily basis but overall ok.
Pull out couch is perfect addition when your family is bigger than 4 people.

The hotel is a true 3-star hotel. It's one block inland from Waikiki beach. Room and service are good. Rooms are OK. There's low water pressure. Valet and overnight parking is expensive ($55 for small cars $75 for SUV). The pool is a sad pool honestly. Breakfast is included for everyone who stays but it's nothing to celebrate. I would describe breakfast as "continental plus" self-service: scrambled eggs (but not every day), different meats every day, fruit medley (but not every day), cereals, bagels and bread all the time; coffee, tea and juice all the time. Oatmeal all the time. If you have a family and you want to save money then breakfast here will help the wallet (by a lot) if you stay for several days to a week. I must also include that despite these things, the staff were fantastic and willing to help. It also must be noted that the hotel offers a $5 daily credit for the snack bar, and they offered beach toys, boogie board(1), up to 4 towels, and two beach chairs complementary (supplies are limited). If you're on a budget, this hotel's distance to Waikiki beach can't be beat, if you can afford a bit more, look elsewhere.

Very good value hotel. 3 minutes away from Waikiki's best beach for family. Free water bottles and unlimited refilled water helped a lot.

this was our first family vacation in quite a few years. We enjoyed the hotel, the staff and especially the morning breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends who are about to take a vacation.

The property is reachable to the beach, restaurants, transportation. Breakfast was included which also was helpful.
However, a couple of things that didn't go well.
I booked a ocean view, but I got a building view for the first day. When I requested for a change, they did change the room to an ocean view. I expect a partial refund atleast for this first day.
The rental company they have in hour "First rest" has drop off at 5 pm at Hyatt or go to a near by hotel (Waikiki resort) for a free overnight drop off. That's not convenient as we carried out backpacks every day from Waikiki to Hyatt. Hyatt also has vallet parking but that comes at an additional cost of $60 approx. For a property like Hyatt, I expect the hotel to have in house overnight parking covered by the rental company they offer. For one of the days, this company provided me a car with roaches in the trunk. On another days, they provided the car to me without child seat. Also, the "First rent" staff at Waikiki and Hyatt are not on same page with rest to pick up and drop off policies which caused inconvenience for me on one of the days.

This hotel charged 250 for parking and 35$ per day for destination fees. Their breakfast was very very very basic and terrible. They don't have even a coffee bar anywhere in the building except mornings, not even microwave in common area to heat milk for kids. I wont be choosing this hotel anymore to stay. Third day of our stay we couldn't enter in our room due to door issues, we had to stay outside with kids around 55 minutes.
