Key West Resort on Lake Dora

Check in was good. When I opened my room the tv was on blasting loud with a broken remote, there was a dirty towel that clearly was used to remove makeup and the A/C didn’t work. The 2nd night they had some sort of party with a band directly below our room. With Children it was very difficult to sleep until after 11 when the band. Finally stopped. If we were notified of this we would have booked somewhere else. There was no one at the counter for hours to communicate with. Multiple families were upset that night. Check out went smoothly, but the over all experience left us unnerved a bit.

Let me begin by saying I can sleep with a television on or a radio playing. I even used to live in a house that backed up to train tracks and the train came through every night and never disturbed me. This place is on a whole different level of noise. Both nights the band playing below the rooms of the hotel was so loud that the room shook until 3:00am. It was torturous even with ear plugs in which I bought after the first night. Also, the "resort" offers a free continental breakfast. That was a joke. The breakfast literally had premade ego waffles that were then individually wrapped in saranwrap and placed in a refrigerator. My kids will eat basically anything and they looked at me and said can we please go somewhere else for breakfast. When we left the breakfast room on our first day I asked the front desk lady where we could go eat breakfast. She directed me to a place down the street (it was walkable) that when we arrived was closed on Saturdays. Anyway, if you are a partier who wants to stay out until 3:00am and then go to your room and sleep in forgoing breakfast then this place will suit your needs. If you are looking for a reasonable place to get some rest and something to eat at the start of your morning then I would suggest sleeping in your car while packing some dry lucky charms in a ziplocked bag would be an upgrade.

This is the second time we've stayed at the Key West Resort, and we'll certainly stay there again. The hotel is very well appointed, it overlooks Lake Dora, numerous restaurants and bars are within walking distance, and the balcony is the perfect place for my family to watch me and my Army pals parachute into the lake with the Phantom Airborne Brigade, which we do every year, and will continue to do as long as we still can.

View was nice and staff friendly enough. We had multiple family members staying there that had toilet issues, shower leaked all over the floor, a/c issues, elevator didn't work at times and sister with cane had to use stairs. The worst thing was we were not advised that there was a bar below us that had live music at night. Friday and Saturday night it was so loud that we could not go to sleep. I think it should be mentioned when booking so that a person could choose another building. Needs some basic repairs on building and rooms.

The view was beautiful! Once we got into the room it was instantly bad vibes! The bed had hair all in it, the sleeper sofa stains. There are conjoined rooms with no way to secure the door on your side so the other room could just unlock if they were curious. From the patio the dividers in between just unlatch and you can go onto other peoples private patios. Didn’t feel safe to have my child there. Again the view was amazing and conveniently above the shops and bars.

The staff was wonderful.. super clean and very comfy… also very roomy. You are staying in bar district keep that in mind when booking and ask to be in a room away from the noise if you want to hear the noise. It didn’t bother but what did was the family next to us they were obnoxious, loud, there kids were running around jumping screaming all thru the night. I asked them every night we were there but it didn’t matter they were intoxicated the whole time. I finally had enough and called the front desk but even after she brought Law Enforcement still nothing of course it did not help with the officers stating that was going to happen.. blah blah blah. Then then they put their kids upto standing at the door joining the rooms and scream and yell..it just got worse . it is called common courtesy and respect.. pretty sure no one knows about that anymore. With that being said.. It is a wonderful place.. I cannot blame the hotel staff for the ignorance of others.

The layout was a bit strange. There are 3 buildings all separate from eachother. Looked a little sketchy. Area was pretty cool. Lots of bars and such right there. Room was large. Ceilings were high and view was nice. Beds \were comfortable and the room was pretty clean. Very basic. Not even an alarm clock or anything. Only had 3 towels for 4 people.Good place to stay for young people but probably not the best for kids or families. Overpriced for what it was. Not a resort.

Super cute area for families or if you want to stop at a bar for food and drinks

My air conditioner didn’t work and wasn’t fixed after the front desk was notified. The lock to the balcony didn’t work. The shower wasn’t clean. There is a loud bar next door that played music all night. Not good for sleeping. There is fabulous food around within walking distance and the pool is great. The views are better. Lots of fun parks for kids in walking distance including a splash pad. Stayed here in the spring and loved it! Disappointed this trip.

Beautiful spot on the lake, kids loved the pool and many places to walk and eat. Great stay, would definitely book again!
