DoubleTree by Hilton Durango

Front desk was fabulous. Passed a few guys sitting in a side lobby who looked odd. Got up to the room and it was 85 degrees. Thought I would turn up the ac while I grabbed dinner. Came back to the hotel an hour later and the same guys were sitting in the side lobby. Got up to the room and it was still 85 degrees. Walked back down to the lobby because the phone in the room was broken. Passed the same odd guys in the side lobby. Front desk was able to find a room with working ac. In the new room the water pressure was awful, there was no garbage can in the bathroom and the hand set in the shower didn’t work. I had to come back to the lobby to exchange the previous room keys and I watched the two men who had been sitting in the side lobby walk into the parking lot and then out towards the highway. They were homeless!! All in all this place is outdated, unsafe, and overall shouldn’t be part of the Hilton family.

Great for families. Walking distance to historic downtown abd thd grocery store right next to it was super convenient. Friendly staff. Loved the river facing balcony.

A clean, comfortable hotel along the Animas River with walking distance to downtown. Great for families with pets. We will stay again.

Very welcoming staff, clean rooms and property, kids really loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Will definitely stay again next time were in Durango,CO.

We stayed in Durango for a few nights for a family trip to Mesa Verde, Four Corners and to explore a part of Colorado my husband and daughter had never been to before. We chose this hotel due to the proximity to the river. We also chose it as we wanted to “splurge” because you know, spending more means better comfort, right? 😂 The pros: *the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating! *we received a daily text asking about our stay (and when I had random questions, I’d send a text instead of calling which was great!) *the river is awesome and sitting on the deck was nice, especially at night *the location is awesome if you’re wanting to check out Main Street or ride the train as you can walk there The cons: *the beds are like those from one of the cheapest motel chains around *house keeping is only available upon request and there’s no nearby trash cans so trash just accumulates. I’m assuming this is due to COVID and it will resume to daily without request, someday *although the river is nice, the constant traffic drains out the soothing river noise If friendly staff and views of the river are your requirements, most definitely stay here! If you need a more comfortable mattress and just overall comfort, for this price point, I’d recommend staying someplace else.
