Hyatt Place Santa Cruz

Everything was great except the sound proofing. One side you have to deal with passing traffic, the other side with screaming kids at the pool. I advise getting a room facing pool bc at least that closes @ 10pm.

Loved everything about our stay. Breakfast everyday was great and they had a nice variety. Our room was clean and new and everyone was very friendly. Will definitely be staying here again. We also used the fire pits to make s'mores which was a hit with the kids.

Great for families

We love this hotel! It is so family friendly and my children beg to come back again and again. We have stayed here at least five times and enjoy it every time.

Great family hotel.

My family stayed here 2 years ago when it was a newer hotel and it was great. Coming back the valet and front customer service team was awesome and very friendly. The three things that bothered me is that the beds are indented with the previous patrons body and you can feel the spring coils in your back as you sink in. I am currently pregnant so it was so hard to sleep on the bed. Also, the lobby smelled bad. It should be the freshest smell when you walk in but it had a faint scent. Lastly, the rooms need to be upgraded and the tv’s are outdated. The breakfast was on the plus side and the pool. The hotel should reconsider parking fees which was $19. It should just come with the hotel stay.

The hotel is fine. Clean with good size room. The staff at reception was pretty rude/disinterested in customer service. We had to wait an hour after check in for a room. Not the hotels fault but there were TONS aid kids and our room over the pi area was pretty loud. Also the AC in the room was super loud as it kicked in and out through the night. The area surrounding the hotel is a little sketchy-there's a 7/11 across the street that drew a lot of homeless (par for the area). Worth noting that there is NO self park option so you will have to valet at $19 ( tipping)/day. Although the one bright spot was the super friendly valet guys. Overall a very average stay. Just worth knowing what you're getting.
