Hyatt Place Santa Cruz

The room was comfortable and clean. I reported that TV didn't work. We made it work...gave us time to communicate as a family and sleep without the blue lights....lol.

Everything was great except the sound proofing. One side you have to deal with passing traffic, the other side with screaming kids at the pool. I advise getting a room facing pool bc at least that closes @ 10pm.

Fun, family friendly hotel with nice sized rooms, good breakfast and central location to the boardwalk and downtown. Responsive, pleasant staff. My kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub, although they were too crowded for me to enjoy (both seemed a bit small for the number of people utilizing them) and the "bar" is more of a counter with beer and wine only. Overall, we all enjoyed the stay and would recommend and return. Be sure to bring plenty of cash to tip for the valet parking.

We had a great time there with friends and family, location is perfect and all their services too. Breakfast was a bit chaotic as they have less than enough seats and tables, nevertheless definitely recommended place.

My family and I stayed just 1 night here and overall had a nice day. The room was very clean and spacious. It was quiet overall and we anll slept fine and the air conditioner worked well. There were no free amenities in the room. We didn’t end up staying to eat the free continental breakfast, but the breakfast looked pretty standard. The hotel only offers valet parking and they do charge an overnight fee so be prepared for that. The location was central to where we visited in Santa Cruz and was also easy biking distance. Close to the boardwalk and downtown Santa Cruz across the bridge. Also a good dumpling noodle spot down the street. The pool and hot tub we used was fine too. A mix of couples, families mainly here. Overall would stay again!

We checked-in about 30 minutes early, but they made it seem like kind of a big deal. The gentleman at the front desk went to make sure it was okay (and evidently got the okay), but then someone else corrected him after he assigned us a room, saying they weren't checking people in yet because they didn't know what rooms were ready with housekeeping (again only a tad early). He said it was okay to proceed to check us in, but the whole thing was a little awkward. It seemed like it would be good to stagger the check-in since it was a valet-only parking situation and got crowded in the lobby and valet soon after 3pm. Other than the weird welcome, the valet staff was really accommodating and friendly! They made what could have been a terrible parking situation, not that bad. The room was clean and accommodated our family of 5. Our view was of trees and the building next door, so it didn't allow for much natural light, but did feel private. The continental breakfast was yummy and easy to access. Good quality in a clean environment. Overall we had a convenient and efficient stay. There was a cute little pool area that we didn't use because we didn't have time. This place is a walkable distance to the boardwalk if you like walking. It's a pretty busy stretch with a lot of uphill on the way back, so probably not the easiest for young kids. Close to good eating options and 7-Eleven.

Loved everything about our stay. Breakfast everyday was great and they had a nice variety. Our room was clean and new and everyone was very friendly. Will definitely be staying here again. We also used the fire pits to make s'mores which was a hit with the kids.

The property worked for our graduation visit. Convenient, clean, and safe for our family. Extra shoutout to the late night staff and your valet parking crew. We would stay here again without having to worry. Thanks for a great time.

Great for families

We love this hotel! It is so family friendly and my children beg to come back again and again. We have stayed here at least five times and enjoy it every time.
