The hotel is nice, but the sound of the lifts all night was bad. With two children it was a nightmare. The staff give us a refund as they knew it was a problem which they have every night!

Enjoyed the stay, nice room and pool area for family. Only complaint was a bad odor that seemed to be wafting into the room from the bathroom.

Nice staff, and Nice hotel. If we should say anything bad it would be that there is a lot of kids in the pool but that only makes it good for familys

We chose this hotel due to the pool and lobby which turned out to be the right decision. The kids had a great time at the pool and the loungers and poolside service was great. The lobby was just a vibe and was a great place to play games in the evening. Easy walk to the Boardwalk, about 20 minutes and walking distance to places for breakfast and Starbucks. Great place for families but was also quiet where we stayed on the 5th floor. Additionally when we meeded extra towels, they were delivered fast which is sometimes nit the case at other hotels.

We booked a 1-bedroom suite so we could have a separate area for our kids to sleep at night. Layout of room was very awkward, and furniture dinged up / clearly missing a picture on the wall. Flashback to my college dorm room. To top it off for our premium stay it was next to the elevator and we could hear it going up and down 24/7 even with a noise machine. Only 2 towels in the bathroom - had to go down to ask for more. They couldn’t tell me when they would be able to send someone up with more (I had to tell them I wanted to take them back with me since I had little kids and we wanted to take showers) Pool. Overcrowded one day since they also sell resort passes. Staff never brought out enough towels. People constantly asked for them and they would bring out 10 at a time. Not sure why they couldn’t just fill the cabinets so there were plenty. Pool itself was very dirty. Tiles didn’t look like it had been cleaned in weeks and there was caked on grime all over. You could write in it with your nail. Hot tub was a shade of green- looked like algae was starting to grow. And the grime was disgusting in there. They had an app to order food for room service. Wasn’t intuitive to use. Tried to call to place a phone order and the mailbox was full. I think they need a better management team or more housekeeping staff to make this place run smoother. And explain how the app works at check in…. Not sure we would stay here again- overpriced and slept horribly.

Great size room for a family of 4. Room could have been pout together a bit better. Lamp shade crooked and missing pieces, no extra blankets, dark bathroom. But overall great for the value.

As a family we have stayed at this property twice before this last time. It seems that it used to look and feel a lot better. There was a lot of confusion at check-in and I feel like the staff that was working Didn’t know what they were doing and we’re preoccupied with something else. I don’t know what that is but I didn’t feel comfort checking in. Also, the hotel charged my mom more and she still fighting the charges. Also, this was the first time that we have been there that you guys implemented a parking fee. Lastly, I will say that we asked for adjoining rooms well far in advance and still didn’t get them. I will say out of all the hotels in Santa Cruz. This might be the nicest one, but we didn’t have that great of an experience.

Out of the three days we stayed at Hotel Paradox they had massive parties at the pool. I booked the hotel specifically so my kids could swim at the pool. Check in with them if they have parties planned. This was a huge bummer.

I booked two rooms for my family (so two reviews). We were at Paradox for a family wedding - and this was the worst stay ever! The front reception - blew us off and told us he could do nothing to help us. We could not get the "wedding rate" despite booking well before the deadline - no one ever returned my multiple calls for help. The only person helpful was Jay, who helped us after we had waited 3 hours by the overcrowed pool.

My family (two rooms) were there for a wedding: I never got the wedding discounted rate (after multiple calls to events managers, NOT ONE CALL BACK!); our rooms were not available so we had to wait 3 hours out at the crowded pool; one glass of cheap wine in plastic ... we had a horrible stay. The only person who was helpful was Jay at the front desk (after the previous nasty desk person basically told us he could not do anything - basically "screw you" and take what I give you at 4 p.m.
