We booked the "Executive suite" for me, my wife, and our two grandchildren (ages 11 and 13), which was perfect. The pool and hot tub were popular and there was plenty of room in the suite for everyone. Easy walking to the beach. train station, and State Street

We absolutely LOVED everything about this quaint little hotel nestled beneath the palm trees near the beach. The customer service was top notch from the welcome email received right after booking, to the follow up saying they were looking forward to our arrival. Ben at the front desk treated us like family from the moment we walked in, greeting us with fresh coffee, warm cookies and the inside scoop on a map with everything we would want to see within walking distance. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our room was actually a suite with a full living room & kitchenette that included a full size refrigerator, microwave, dishes and even wine glasses. It was super clean with lots of smart upgrades and the bed was super comfy. All the amenities of home. Definitely one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. We will certainly stay there again and tell all our friends to do the same. Thank you Franciscan for being so fabulous!

The hotel was ok but I was very disappointed with the room and service provided. We were given a room with no cable and no where was this advertised to us before our arrival. Moreover, the hotel didn’t assist us with getting the TV to work because the only person available to do so wouldn’t be back until the next day. The best was also very uncomfortable, so overall just expected more from this hotel with what was advertised. I wouldn’t stay again nor would I recommend it to friends/family.

Our family stayed in the casita which was HUGE! we had a big living room with a kitchen and our kids stayed in the upstairs bedroom. shower was great, linens soft, TVs in every room! The pool was nicely heated. The hotel was 2 blocks from the beach and about a 12-minute walk to the pier, and about a 10–15-minute walk to the state street restaurants. Would stay here again!

We loved this place and would definitely return. Ben was especially welcoming. It’s in a lovely area and an easy walk to the ocean. The coffee and afternoon cookies were a bonus and my kids loved the pool. Only negative was that the in room fridge froze the milk and fruit we’d bought for our kids two days running despite us turning it right down.

I was very excited to book this property and then the whole experience wasn't that great! It's really a rip off in terms of money for what one gets at this hotel. We paid $400/night for a junior suite. I will say the layout in itself was pretty sizable and the king bed in the bedroom was about the only good thing about this place. Now, for the not so good stuff: water pressure in the shower close to non existent ( I don't understand how hotels can expect their clients to take a shower in what would be a drizzle of water). Pretty ridiculous! The room seems unfinished: everything looks nice and clean, but it feels like they ran out of money (no rugs on the floor, walls with no art) just a general feel of "almost there". Shutters at windows broken. There is barely anything offered for breakfast. I understand hotels in America don't usually offer breakfast and if they do is usually pretty bad but at least have something available for sale: muffins, bagels with cream cheese, croissants..there are so many options available out there if only there would be will. Please buy a nice professional espresso machine, put it in the lobby, charge for it, I don't care, but people would appreciate a good quality coffee in the morning. We travel a lot in Europe and let me tell you for $400/night you would get way more good services than what you get in California. Pretty disappointed!

The Franciscan in West. Wonderful experience. The staff the room. Everything was immaculate and perfect. The room was booked for fiesta for my husband’s 83 year old mother And her 86 year old friend. The accommodations were perfect for them. Everything met their needs. Whenever anyone of our family or friends come up to see us in Santa Barbara we will recommend going to the Franciscan Inn.

My Husband and I took a trip for our mini honeymoon here. We absolutely loved it, such a cute little gem in Santa Barbara. We will definitely come back soon and recommend it to our friends and family. Thank you!
