Quality Inn On Historic Route 66

Room #123 Even though the door had a bolt lock and a "flip" type security lock, it did not leave me feeling secure. The door was loose in the jam and appeared to be very old. Restaurant: The windows facing the pool were filthy. I couldn't even take a guess at the last time they were cleaned. Pool: The green fence screen facing the restaurant, has a very large rip in it, and looks as if it's been that way for quite awhile. All these points cry "Manager clearly does not pay attention to detail or plain doesn't care". I've stayed here one other time in 2023 and was very pleased with that room, and thought "I'd stay here again" and even recommended it to family. I've since updated the family about this latest experience. Sadly, I thought I had a great "go to" hotel for future trips, but now, I will not be returning to this hotel. The restaurant, food and service-wise, was great though.

Every couple months we come down to visit my family and this is where we stay. It’s clean, has an iron, we barbecue sometimes. And my wife loves that there is a restaurant on the property.

Check in was fast and friendly. We had a court yard room which provided us a table to sit at to eat our dinner in a quiet area near our room. The room smelled of carpet freshener. I'm very allergic so I had to leave the room door open and stay out of the room for it to air out. We did this while eating our meal. The remote for the room TV did not work. The front desk person brought a different remote and attempted to program it to the Tv but it didn't work either. Maintenance came with yet another remote, but was unable to get even that one to work. They offered to change our room, but since we were tired we declined the move. The staff willingness and efforts to provide us with the comforts of home was very appreciated. Breakfast was served in the hotel restaurant and made to order. The only problem was the children's menu was lacking - they do not allow substitutions and to provide enough for my grandson's breakfast I had to purchase additional items. The beds were very comfortable and the room had adequate space so three of us did not feel crowded. All in all a great place to stay. I would stay again on a future trip.
