California Inn

Was it really a 5-star hotel? Well, how about it was as good as it gets in Barstow. I liked the no-carpet rooms. Something in the building made an odd noise but it only happened once. Seriously no big. I'm assuming the hotel is family owned or management lived onsite which made me feel safe. The front desk person was attentive, and patient/polite to people who phoned while we waited. I would stay there again to support this hotel. A new Starbucks very close (opening soon? or now opened) and another one down the street. Not too far from the highway but far enough not to get noise and pollution from it. Happy and Safe Travels.

This was one of the nicest hotels we stayed at during our 22 state roadtrip. Clean, friendly, good breakfast, located near everything. Only drawback, bath towels seem like they are for kids, to small for adults. But will definitely stay here again on our next trip.

Friendly efficient check-in. Room was clean and included, wifi, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron and iron board. Desk, chair, lamps with USB charge ports. Bathroom had all amenities including toothbrush and toothpaste if needed. Great shower with lots of pressure. Breakfast has everything you can think of for adults and their kids. Several charging stations available for EV's. I would make this my first choice for staying when passing through in the future.

We really loved the room and it was really clean and spacious. The breakfast included was great! The kids loved making waffles and it was nice to have fresh coffee and a hot breakfast to start our day. The room we were in had two beds but they were not comfy, they were so hard. I didn't sleep at all that night. My husband woke up with a sore back. We were there for only one night. Over all it was a good experience, plus the staff was really nice and helpful. Still it was a win, win for us!!

My stay at California Inn was intriguing and mostly pleasant. The standout feature was a massive cactus beside the hotel, impressively towering over the two-story structure. A notable highlight in the room was the presence of two sinks – one inside and one outside the bathroom. This thoughtful touch greatly enhanced convenience, especially for families, allowing simultaneous use for morning routines. The breakfast selection was impressive, offering a wide variety of foods that catered to different tastes. However, the lack of an elevator in this two-story building posed a slight challenge, particularly since our room was on the second floor. I encountered a small bug in the shower cube, which wasn’t a major concern for me. Overall, California Inn presented a unique and comfortable stay, albeit with a few minor drawbacks that could be improved upon for an even better experience.

The California inn is wonderful and has everything my family and I needed on our trip.

Travel this right twice a year. Always saw great reviews and thought we’d try it out. Definitely convenient and very reasonable price. But bare bones hotels. Front desk was rude and not forthcoming to park I g, doors into hotel and answering of questions. Hard bed, thin cheap blankets, and amenities for 1 child size. Breakfast ok. Will be staying on our future trip at a little more upscale chain hotel.

If I ever come back to Barstow, CA, I will stay at the California Inn! I won't even check other hotels! The rooms were spacious, the beds comfy, the room immaculate, and the price was super affordable! The staff were kind to give me directions and allowed me to checkout easily by calling the front desk! They even gave us a few complimentary waters. My little furbaby even loved his stay. We will be back for sure.
