Fairfield Inn by Marriott Mission Viejo / Orange County

It was ok, came into town for a family function. The room was bare bones without any amenities, paid almost $400 for 2 nights and when the family event was over we skipped the 2nd night in the room and just drove home. Not much to brag about for the pruce. I would have rather spent that much for a room down in San clemente on the beach.

Excellent hotel! Clean, fantastic staff, surprisingly good breakfast, and pool/hot tub. Great for our local visits to family/nearby locations.

Clean and not noisy Convenient location to my family’s home

We stayed one night for a family wedding & hotel was very accommodating re: early check in so we could be on time (in contrast, my sister's fancy hotel that we couldn't book at b/c full did not let her check in early). The room was clean & had everything we needed. Plugs were nicely situated for phones, room had microwave, fridge & coffee (tho we didn't need any of it for our short stay) & there was a decent breakfast with a variety of choices. More than your standard cold continental breakfast. I only grabbed fruit & coffee so can't speak to quality. Our room (and the hotel in general) was quiet despite it being completely full & the temp was stable -- not too cold or too stuffy. And free parking!! It was exactly what we needed.

Everything was very nice until I tried to extend my stay one more night. I spoke to someone in the evening and he told me he made me a new reservation for one more night and all I had to do was visit the desk again in the morning and have them reset my keys. In the morning at 7am I spoke to a woman at the desk (my sister was also there and saw) and she had me run my credit card and she also took my keys and scanned them. She told me I was all set. At 12:30pm my two children and I were napping in our room and our phone rang. I hung it up because it was waking my children and then it rang again. So I answered and the front desk told me I was late to check out. I explained to them that I extended my stay and did everything they instructed me to do. They both essentially told me I was lying and that I needed to come to the front desk and repeat what I had done earlier in the morning. The woke my children and I was very frustrated and I told them I would come down when I could but this was their mistake, not mine. They called again 1 hr later and woke my children again even though I told them not to. I hung up the phone again. A few min later they were banging on my door and threatening to throw me out of the hotel in front of my children. They continued to insist that my version of the story was impossible and they were very rude. I left the hotel crying.

Good breakfast. Nice eating area. Clean. There was no apparent curfew for the kids staying there. They were running up and down the halls, knocking on room doors, yelling until after 10:30 pm. Spoiled the whole experience and could not sleep.

The room was definitely on the smaller side so it was a bit cramped for our family of 3, but overall the room and bedding were clean and comfortable. Location is convenient right off freeway but it's strangely located in the same parking lot as the gas station and convenience store.
