Ayres Hotel Laguna Woods

We stayed here several times, we were actually in between houses and decided to stay at the hotel. It is pet friendly and in such an awesome location. Breakfast is good. My only concern is high fructose corn syrup in jams and other products and lots of waste - no respect to recycling.... something that would be great to see in the future from the Ayres family

Great for my family! Had a great time! Felt like a family retreat.

The room had a strange odor upon entering the room. We were on the third floor right in front of the maintenance room so it was loud at times. In the middle of the night we could hear yelling and a lot of people running. It woke my whole family up. The breakfast was mediocre at best. The pictures online showed pancakes which there were not. There was some event going on so it was packed with people. Overall I was underwhelmed by our stay. The beds were hard and the fridge did not keep my leftover dinner cold so I had to throw it out. I would go somewhere else next time. I had high hopes for this hotel chain but I did not feel that it lived up to the online reviews.

Heated pool, hot tub, free breakfast (which is really filling), free happy hour (wine, beer, soda and snacks), microwave and fridge in our room. 1 sink next to the bathroom and 1 sink above the microwave and fridge area (really nice btw because I have a baby and need to clean his bottles lol) everyone that works there are all nice. We will come back!

Great hotel for family a friends to hand out a relax.

We loved the Ayres Hotel Laguna Woods and would stay here again. The breakfast buffet was a hit with omelets, during the week and scrambled/fried eggs on the weekend, sausage/bacon, potatoes, waffles, cereal, toast you name it. With inflation and food prices on the rise, it was a steal! The kids loved being in the hot tub in 51-degree weather and the staff were friendly and accomodating. The sound-proofing was great, gotta love a hotel where you don't hear other guests in the hallways!

We stayed at the Ayres Laguna Woods with a large group for a family event. On a Friday evening after the event 8-10 of us gathered outside with two six-packs of beer and a bottle of wine. Some of us had flown from NY or further to see family and we wanted to extend our evening a bit. We were told outside was “closed” at 10pm so we moved into the lobby. While moving a chair over to accommodate someone in our group (we are all mature adults aged 50-90) the night manager through a hissy fit. He said it was “just too much” for us to move any of the chairs - and then told me he was doing us a huge favor which he really shouldn’t be doing to allow us to stay in the lobby until 11. It wasn’t the message itself - it was more of how it was delivered. He was a total d**k about it. He could have been much nicer, and recognized that we booked many rooms in the hotel, we weren’t being noisy at all - but apparently it was “too much” for him. At 11pm we began to gather our stuff as the Night Mgr left for 5 minutes then showed up with a security guard. Really? What was he going to do - manhandle my 90-year old aunt? Some people just should NOT be given responsibility or be put in customer facing roles. If he worked in my organization I’d have fired him on the spot. Should management read this - the evening in question was Nov 3, 2023. All other aspects of the hotel were fine, with the eggs cooked to order free breakfast a highlight.

My family and me stay here for one day and really like it. All areas very clean, good breatfast and love the swimming pool area. Customer services tpp. Thank you ;)

Check in easy, staff exceptionally friendly, room very comfortable. I was giving my daughter a baby shower and my 83 year old mother would not have been able to run the errands and set up for the party, so we stayed here for two nights. While I was out making preparations mom stayed in the hotel. The staff happily came to her room to help when she could not get the television programmed properly and also brought her ice. I chose this hotel because of the amenities and safe location knowing she would be alone for a longer period of time. I chose a coener room with couch which provided her with more windows & comfortable place to sit. She warmed her lunch in the microwave and had an eating table in the room. It gave her the feel of being more at home and more spacious than a small room to just sleep & leave for yhe day. Bed was comfortable. Staff happily assisted me with 2 luggage carts full of gifts & decorations that i needed to wrap & finish the night before party. I would highly recommend, we were very happy!

Fantastic stay for my family for the fourth. Hotel was great and far exceeded expectations. Really nice hotel, very clean, quiet , good location. Breakfast was really great and the daily happy hour with cookies was a big hit with kids. Amazing value. Cost half the price as other places in Dana point and was way nicer. Will stay here again for sure and highly recommend. Easy drive to Laguna beach and away from hustle and bustle and near great hiking.
