Hampton Inn & Suites Oakland Airport-Alameda

We stayed here for one night. Checked in around mid night and checked out in morning. Intention was to get a clean hotel to spend night and it was served well. Room: Room was decent, clean. bathroom was good. There was no refrigrator or microwave in room. In morning lady at check-in desk helped in accessing kitchen microwave to warm milk for baby. Breakfast; Breakfast was included in price. It was good standard breakfast we get in hotels. Locality: I read reviews about safety issues in this area. But I didn’t see anything concerning in whatever time I was there. Infact Police car was parked at front door. Area is quite as exepected. Didn’t hear noise( even it’s close to airport). Overall good stay!

Property was great to stay at, especially considering the state of Oakland. We were there are a family and I felt safe having my kids with me. It was a very short stay so we didn’t get to experience the breathe of the hotel but for what we came for, it was perfect. My only complaint and issue I had was cell phone service in our room was practically non-existent and the WIFI was TERRIBLE!

When I arrived to my room, it was ice cold, so I tried to turn it on but to no avail. So I called the front desk to report that I didn’t have any heat. The person I spoke with said she would call in the problem to the maintenance man. I waited for over an hour but heard nothing back. Since I had just driven up to Alameda, I was tired and went to bed with nothing offered or done to solve my dilemma. The next morning when I went down for breakfast, the ladies at an adjacent table were talking that they, too, were given a room with no heat. They asked for and were given another room that did have a working thermostat. This is all very unsettling. I have family in Alameda whom I was meeting to celebrate Christmas with. I have come up here several times and always stayed at the Hampton-Oakland hotel. That said, I am likely to be looking for another hotel in the future.

Location was a bit remote from downtown and other family activities, however that was made up by being safe and quiet. Breakfasts were good, hot and tasty. Biggest concern was that the beds need to be replaced as they were very uncomfortable.

I booked a king suite and was given a double queen room instead with no price adjustment. We had our two small children with us which was the reason for the larger room size. The manager on duty was not helpful or apologetic. It felt as though I was more of an inconvience than their customer.
