The Marina Inn on San Francisco Bay

Always welcoming, and close to visit family.

We stayed here a few times but things are not what it used to be. Now we have to pay for parking, the marina is now seem abandoned. But the worst thing is the whole family got bitten by bed bugs.

Terrible customer service Toilet broken ..I had to use the hall restroom .. The a/c was so loud could not sleep ..Parking fee charged when not listed on my reservation ..worst stay ever ..suffice to say I will tell my clients,family and friends to avoid this hotel .. Not a happy customer!!!!

Mom and 2 daughters visiting San Fran for Spring Break. Price was great for this property. I read reviews before booking and saw some of the same things. The walls are thin. Baby next door woke us up early due to crying. Breakfast didnt have many options to choose from. No biscuits and gravy or saugage/bacon which is what my kids were looking for. Unexpected was that the hot tub jets didn't work. So it was a hot bath. But for the price and safety of the area I thought it was a good option for a traveling family. Staff were great. Would book again when visiting San Fransisco.

Most of the hotel decor and amenities are circa 1990s, so once you level set your expectations, everything is well-kept up and fully functional. The staff provides excellent service and they give out fresh baked cookies to people checking in (we checked in early, so they saved milk and cookies for my 5-year-old, which was much appreciated). You have to pay for parking (about $18/day). Short walk to the Marina where there are two playgrounds for kids and ice cream trucks. Would stay here again.

I really loved how easy it was to get from the Oakland airport and that transportation was provided. I would definitely stay there again and venture more of the city next time. I was there for a family celebration of life so I did not get to explore much.

I was a little unsure about booking this hotel due to reviews talking about the area being run-down and abandoned and isolated. It ended up being a great place to stay! We arrived early (11 am), and they held our bags for us. There was a very nice park nearby with a great walking path out onto a piece of land in the bay, lots of shade trees and shaded picnic tables, and 2 nice playgrounds. We set up at a picnic table in the shade and my kids played on it until our room was ready at around 2 pm. There was also a golf course, frisbee golf course, and driving range just across the street. The hotel was clean and comfortable. There were 2 restaurants within easy walking distance, both right on the water. My kids enjoyed the pool, the cookies in the evening, and the breakfast was decent as well. The negatives: Yes. There definitely are unhoused people in the parking lot between the hotel and the park. Including campers set up by a sign saying that campers aren't allowed to stay there. We didn't have any problems with them, and it definitely sparked a conversation with my kids about the issue of homelessness. There were some spots where rips in the carpet were currently repaired with tape. The hot tub jets were broken and some mildew/mold there and pool. Noise from people walking above us and then from the road outside and from a car alarm going off early in the morning. And the curtains didn't really do a great job of blocking sunlight. We would stay here again
