Sleep Inn & Suites Cullman I-65 exit 310

Where do I start? Didn’t realize it was a pet friendly hotel which is on us but the dogs barking and kids running the hall at midnight should have been dealt with. The room had mold in the bathroom and the bedspread had a suspicious stain on it. There was also trash left behind on the floor. The plastic bag covering the smoke alarm was also highly suspicious. When I got out of bed after a sleepless night I thought that the least they could provide me was a decent breakfast. That was a bit much to ask I guess. Prison food is probably better. I would have asked for a refund but I just wanted to GTFO as quickly as possible.

This property appeared nice when we arrived. They put us in a room next to the laundry room and across from the meeting room. We listened to a banging noise all night and then a group of visitors laughing and talking in the meeting room from 5 am on. We had kids above us running in their room making noise during the evening as well. The ceiling in our room had duct tape holding the plaster up where something had leaked through. The remaining ceiling was water stained. Overall, just not a good stay.

We always use Sleep Inn when visiting grandchildren in Cullman. It's a good value. Downsides are details such as noisy heat/AC unit in our room, the new square pillows on the bed - we like standard sized pillows, and the fact that though I've been complaining about it to staff at this location for years, when we enter the room, which is always after dark, there is no way to turn a light on in the room on entry. One has to poke around in the dark to find the switch on the desk lamp before you can see what not to trip over. The switch by the door runs the outlet that the desk lamp where the lamp is plugged into. For some reason the lamp itself is always turned off. Why can't the staff make sure it is in the "on" position when they make up the room each day?
