Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Athens, an IHG Hotel

It was clean and they had a great breakfast! They even hid some Easter eggs for our kids on Easter morning!

We had some issues with our room. The smoke alarm was beeping at 2am and the window frame was leaking water from the frame and puddling on the AC unit. We used a towel to stop the drip noise but the entire window needs fixed. Regardless of these two issues that caused us to have a non-restful night, the staff were AMAZING. Felicia at the front desk was polite, listened to my concerns. The hotel was ok, but the staff deserve recognition with their superior customer service. Also, the breakfast was good and kind staff as well. A variety of foods for our family of 4 (pancakes, eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, yogurt options, milk, juices, coffee...all the things you expect!).

We stayed at this hotel twice and we were very impressed. The staff was friendly, hotel was clean, and the breakfast was delicious. There were many dining options surrounding the hotel. It was very quiet and we appreciated that because we have a little baby. The parking area was well lit and it felt very safe.

The room was very clean, and the continental breakfast was probably the best we had ever had! Very kid friendly and had a high chair for our baby along with a crib that worked out perfect! Def would stay there again

Expedia advertized the Suite as able to sleep 7. It only accommodated 6, but the staff went above and beyond to get a rollaway for our extra kid. Curtains between the beds would've been nice for som privacy. We expected to stay 1 night, but due to car trouble on a Sunday, we stayed 2. They also accommodated a late checkout. Everything was so clean, quality Dove toiletrees, delicious hot breakfast, I can't say enough good things. The area resturants are only an IHOP & Applebee's, and Applebee's is dirty.

I felt the property was great. The issue we had was that we booked the room on Expedia as a 2 bed Queen Suite room. However, when we arrived at the hotel they said Expedia booked a room they do not have open. So, we technically did not have a room. So, we had to work through things with Expedia and the hotel for 30-45 minutes of standing in the lobby with my family, all of our stuff, and after driving for 8 hours. It was really exhausting and tiring for us, and the hotel was just blaming Expedia and they couldnt do anything. So, they provided us a King Suite for the same price, but the issue was that we had more than 2 people so people had to sleep on the couch. The hotel provided us no extra discount, or anything since they blamed it on Expedia. Expedia did provide a voucher for some money off a hotel room next time we stay somewhere, but it wasnt a free room next time and it didnt help the situation we were in.

By far the best hotel we’ve ever been to. The front desk staff were great and made check in and check out a breeze! (Especially when you’re traveling alone with a toddler) the rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was even better! A full meal was a plus! We will definitely add this to our list of stays.
