Fairfield Inn & Suites Athens I65

Service was excellent. Advertised double sized pull out couch bed incorrect, it was a twin size bed, made for an uncomfortable night of sleep for 2 family members.

The lady that checked us in was amazing and friendly. We asked for extra blankets later and she was right on it. She made sure we had everything we needed. The hotel and rooms looked great and were clean. Our beds were very comfortable and we all slept great. That’s a big deal for my family because several of us have back problems and usually find hotel beds very uncomfortable. We did not use the pool so I can’t say anything about that. There was a variety of food for breakfast and it all tasted good. We would definitely stay here again!

Our hotel stay here was adequate for what we needed. We just needed a place off 65 to stop on our way home from a vacation in Florida. However, we were very disappointed that when I booked our room which was supposed to sleep "5", that in reality, it only slept 3. There was a king bed and a pull out loveseat with a mattress that was only large enough for one person (two small children perhaps). We had to then pay an extra $10 for a rollaway cot (which had a well worn, stained mattress on it), and squeezed our three kids amidst the rollaway and pullout. Very disappointing, considering it cost us $300 for the room for the night. The room smelled like it maybe used to be a room that had smoking allowed in it, even though there was air freshener that must have been sprayed in it. our clothes and luggage had that stale, cigarette smoke smell to it, so we had to air and launder everything out upon returning home. The front desk staff was very helpful and tried to accommodate us as best as possible, providing extra blankets, pillows, and prompt service. The complimentary breakfast was decent and check out process easy.

Other than a noisy in-window air conditioner, the room was fine and met our needs for a 1-night stay over on our trip to Florida. The shower was full stream and great along with comfortable bedding. The in-door pool was small but it did serve the purpose for our 3 kids to unwind and run off some energy.
